I really wish the LAL pick wasn't in there, but if we get PG, I'll come to peace with it. I try to talk myself into the Lakers not being so bad next year, but, I just can't. They gonna suck unless Magic puls himself out in FA. If it rolls over to the SAC pick in 19, I'd feel much better about losing it. But, if it's #2 next year... ouch.
Honestly I break out in a cold sweat just thinking about LA spending all season around like 5th from the bottom and us dealing with that angst all season. I think they're going to suck but if they end up at like 4 and fall back to 6th it would be the worst thing ever, as would finding out that Lonzo Ball actually does have magical winning powers that help push them out of range. With the Brooklyn pick in the fold it feels a lot easier to let that one go.

I mean what if we use him in the Trade for George and trade Bradley for a pick somewhere else?

Yeah, I'm not saying it won't be successful - right there with Cleveland and SAS for best shot if GSW falters. Just disappointed I'm not more excited.
Imagine the 2008 team only if we had traded Pierce for Chauncey and Prince.
Chauncey/Ray/Prince/KG/Perk is a pretty studly team, but wouldn't it have felt a little cheaper without Pierce?
no worries 19 and 20 will feature jaylen and tatum in prominent roles

This would get us a pick instead of just using him to match salaries

I have a real good buddy who works with someone who "works in the front office for Ainge". My buddy says his froend at work showed him the texts that the deal was done, contingent on Hayward committing and Indy not getting cold feet.
Told me the offer. I personally love it. Some won't. General Board would prob trash both Ainge and Indy for it. Not gunna reveal specifics cuz too many media members lurk here and will quote it for an article.
Thanks for the info SWC.
You should PM a mod the specifics of the deal and then claim credit for being the first poster here to break the news when it eventually comes out.

Trading for George now will eat up cap space since his salary is at most 5K more than the salaries we're sending back.
If we trade for him now, more players have to go out in the trade as opposed to trading him after signing Hayward when we're already over the cap.

Not sure. Maybe they want to know what they have and will target FA's accordingly come July 1st?
I'd be surprised if they force the issue when Boston has more assets than almost anyone for a deal to get done

What we can do is trade Bradley + Rozier for a future pick now or before July 1. Use Zeller + Crowder for the PG trade later. The trade still has to come after Hayward signs.

Guessing we told them that we'd do Deal X if Hayward agrees only. They are trying to get us to say yes now so that they aren't left with a crappier deal if Hayward stays or goes elsewhere.
Reading between the lines, it sounds like George is interested in Boston long term if Hayward is here and a flight risk if he's not. That is probably why Boston's willing to pay a decent chunk only if Hayward commits and not otherwise.

Ya just seems like an odd line. Made sense on draft night but not now.
