Let the tampering begin. Heat, Celts, Warriors and Clippers should be all over him this season.

I heard the Suns are the early favorites from my sources

just on math jaylen and brown would have to go. it is most likely jaylen/smart/memphis milwaukee

Jaylen and Brown? Are you trying to clone him or include his salary twice?

im so high on him i think he is in 2 places at all times on the court...meant smart lol

Our D is going to a nightmare already. Surely a stud big man will shake loose soon enough? No need to rush a sea for the first star that comes up.

i agree but its not the first star...if we were just star crazy you could have went after westbrook or when love comes on the market him. it's about fit and character and ability. ainge has actually been quite reserved on stars. several have come and gone without us making a play for them.

what stud big man is becoming available? there's like 4 in the entire league and we have spoke about them. jokic?? KAT? AD? embiid?
all not happening.

WTF has Bradley Beal done in this league? Perfect example of a ‘replacement level’ all star. Nice numbers on **** teams, could be a third wheel on a title team or maybe even second if your #1 is prime Shaq or LeBron.

And Smart can be in an AD or Towns deal but for Bradley Beal? Helll no.

Wondering if you said the same about Kemba, Hayward and Horford. Boy you must hate everyone outside of Kyrie.

I don’t get your Kyrie line at all. As for the others sure, I wouldn’t have traded Jaylen, Smart, and picks for any of them, if you want to pursue nonsequetors.

Kyrie is the only Celtic player of late who has "done something in this league". He won a title.

Winning games is something and I haven’t seen Beal do much of it, not that I would expect a SG who’s a consistent negative on D to.

So just to be clear.. you think swapping Jaylen and Smart for Beal makes us a worse overall team?

No, but I don't think it's as much better as you think it is either. It's redundant offensive skills with nobody to do the dirty work. Not saying Smart/Jaylen is some nirvana team. But, mainly, I don't see Kemba & Beal as the right platform to build a contender around. I would rather use those trade pieces for another player. TBD who that is, but I don't buy the idea that nobody else will shake loose. (Or that Beal is actually loose for that price).

good points. yes someone may shake loose but who? booker? love? blake? def not 2 way players and most def not defensive guys. KAT-who costs tatum? jokic-not happening. the rest of the big dogs are locked up on new contracts or just traded to new spots. the top guys aren't going anywhere anytime soon. KAT would be that guy and his cost could be 1 step forward 2 back.

when the warriors were in the league with KD, ainge passed on a lot of deals and i agreed with most because the asset cost of getting the player wasn't worth the end result of losing to the warriors in 4 and he was saving for AD. it made no sense trading assets for a chance to be the perennial runner ups.

the league has re-calibrated and while none of those 4 are top 7 talent collectively they would be near if not the top in the league with stevens coaching and that's not counting on tatum who could still be that superstar and he would still be on the roster to dangle for that top 5 mvp talent if they ever become available.

in the past few seasons we have seen PG traded, kawhi traded, ad traded, and for different reasons like fit (jimmy butler) or headcases (boogie and again butler lol) ainge passed and we gambled on kyrie who didn't wanna be here. i don't think we should just keep passing on very good players just because they aren't the mvp caliber guys and i also think acquiring players who actually wanna be here should matter also.

I agree again with you on all this. And this is why a trade for Beal might make sense even if he is not a top 10 player in the league. He has the potential to be a two way player with his defense, as he has shown flashes of John Wall in chasing down fastbreak layups for blocks. He may be asked to do less offensively here if traded to Boston, and therefore would have more energy for the defensive end. (On a side note, Jerry West sold Kevin Durant on being a more well-rounded player on defense and rebounding the ball and I could see Beal being intrigued by a similar challenge.) Ultimately, it may be worth the gamble for Ainge to trade for Beal than hope for JB's development to match his future price tag. I can see Ainge valuing that mindset of Beal, playing all 82 games and competing for a pathetic Wizards team. This is the same mindset Ainge liked about Rozier right before the draft.

It’s what he’s going to get and ask for....otherwise he becomes an RFA and a malcontent. Next years free agent class is horribly weak someone will offer him the max or at least 25 +.

It doesn’t have to be beal. Find someone else who is a really good player entering their prime and we can get using Jaylen as the centerpiece. Beal is the hot name bc he’s suspected to be on the market and imo would fit in great

FWIW, I think it was the right response. Whatever he's feeling/thinking now about his long-term plans, he doesn't have to broadcast in public. Probably learned his lesson from Kyrie lol.

It’s not time to panic, but it’s definitely an “uh oh.” They need to sell Davis on LA and not consider it a guarantee. I think he joins the Heat.
