I really don't see Danny trading Brown unless a "winning" trade presents itself, esp since we have the right to match next off season if we want. I also don't see Danny trading Hayward, if at all until the trade deadline. He is not one to buy high and sell low. Danny will give him plenty of time to see where he's at and establish a value. I really expect both to finish the season with us. Which means both of them will be gone by Monday lol

I don't think Danny is going to give up on J.Green, so I'm thinking a small trade to Houston for a 2nd for Strus or Wannamaker, or both for a player and a pick. Strus is "signed to a contract" and it should be tradable, right?

I’m sure brad wants a chance to coach him at close to full health- after recruiting him so hard to sign here.

Don’t see Hayward going anywhere anytime soon regardless of what was said this summer, things change and the landscape of the Celtics and the league changed immensely. Hell last weeks news is irrelevant let alone something from the summer.

People seem to think they'd be doing JB and JT a favor by getting Hayward shipped out of here. But GH has skills they don't at least yet really have and they would both be better off on a good team (such as with Hayward) than on a bad team (without enough ball handling to more or less replace Horford on O and to also help compensate for the poor D of Kemba and Enes).

E.g., they are both more likely to make it to the AS game if the C's are at least among the top 2 teams in the East.[/quote

Yea good points, my whole thing obviously was if you wanna develop Tatum and brown as much as possible than do that and make the next few seasons all them blossoming, let Hayward build up his trave value and ship him off for picks but the second they signed kemba it at least was a sign that still want to have kind of 2 feet in the development stages of the young and 1 trying to win now.

Did Gordon staple that shirt to himself?

Carsen and Grant and Tremont = A++ as expected
Romeo = HS slacker hoping coach thinks he’s dressed up enough to play in tonight’s away game

I doubt he's tradable for a few months. Guys who've just been signed to contracts (and not in an explicit S&T scenario) never are.

One would also need to check the restrictions on trading guys signed to one-year deals, as to whether they limit trades and also as to whether Strus' non-guaranteed second year makes such clauses inapplicable to him.

to be done December 14th after trade restrictions lift

Hayward and Theis to Phoenix
T. Johnson, Semi, Maten or Wannamaker to Detroit
Drummond and Cameron Johnson to Boston.
(Include a pick or 2 if needed)

Phoenix adds shooting and playmaking on the wing, moves Oubre to PF beside Ayton and has a beastly lineup
Rubio/Jerome
Booker/Okobo
Hayward/Bridges
Oubre/Kaminsky
Ayton/Theis

Detroit adds solid depth and shooting.
Rose/Jackson
Johnson/Kennard
Snell/Doumbouya
Griffin/Morris
Baynes/Makur

Boston adds a legit center and another sf/pf combo

Kemba/Edwards/Waters
Brown/Smart/Strus
Tatum/Green/Langford
Cameron Johnson/G.Williams/Poirier
Drummond/Kanter/Tacko

Guard Javonte Green is emerging as the likely winner of the training camp battle for the Celtics’ open roster spot, league sources said. The Celtics signed Green to a partially guaranteed deal and he is the leader to earn the spot over Max Strus, who signed a partially guaranteed, two-year deal last weekend.

Strus might have showed enough to make the roster, but Green definitely did. You can't play much better than him as a (formerly) no-name longshot signee. He was efficient, played strong defense and is uberathletic. If someone goes down with an injury or a marginal rotation guy regresses, Javonte Green could get some productive playing time.

Javonte plays with energy and great speed, but his decision-making is pretty sketchy against any kind of pressure. A surefire garbage time all-star, but I wouldn't trust him even at the fringe of the rotation.

I feel like thats what your looking for with a 15th man— a guy whos content to only play in garbage time and can also put on a show for the fans during this time.

He reminds me of pre-ACL injury Tony Allen on offense [he’s no where near Allens level on defense, and I’m not claiming hes similar to the player overall]. He’ll make aggressive drives with poor vision but absolutely jam home some tomahawk dunks.

Javonte as the 15th man? I'll take it. Good luck to Struss, he should find himself a spot somewhere.

That's the offense we see, but I feel he's a better 3pt shooter than Allen ever was. Didn't he shoot in the 30ish % overseas last year?

Last year Green shot .354 from 3 in the German BBL (36 games, 2.75 attempts per game), and .361 in the Eurocup (15 games, 2.4 attempts per game).

The three previous seasons he shot .328, .377, and .415 on 3s.

+1.

Hes definitely a better 3 point shooter than Allen, but I do feel their games are similar overall.
