Well, that seems like it could be a long back and forth on that. Lets just leave it as there has been numerous proposals of deals that could in theory be out there for him. There are alot of teams that could use a player of his abilities.

Two teams just went off the list of cap space to accommodate anything close to what Hayward would want, granted their likely was not mutual interest between ATL and MEM and Hayward but it is going to be a very shallow pool of cap space so concerns about Hayward bolting not warranted at this time.

I think there is more than just those 2 teams, potentially.

And I could see Atlanta being interested actually, a vet playmaker on the wing could be very beneficial to them

What about Mo Wagner and Brown Jr from them

Since they are stuck on keeping bertrans, perhaps one of the other 2 could be pried away.

Hard to see him leaving, he's a bargain. Think Warriors will want him next season.

Javonte, Ojeleye, and Wanamaker aren't guaranteed next season. I guess we like Brad and Semi too much?

I don't Wanamaker is expendable unless you have a legit back up PG coming in. I think as much as Boston would have liked to add Burks he and Robinson are not defensive players and having to waive a guy who is a defender and shooting the 3 sort of makes the move pointless.

My guess Ainge needed to move Poirer for this to make sense and couldn't or didn't. That said how is PHI pulling this off? Unless they find a consolidating trade they are going to have to waive some players and their cheap players are good.

Surely some rebuilding team would have taken Poirier with a sweetener. But who else to go? Green's kind of useful and only partially guaranteed. Was his recent start an ineffective showcasing?

Poirer is real money not a vet min contract. So you need a team with cap space or a TPE. I think the issue was that you had to take both Burks and Robinson not one or the other. I think Ainge is attitude is that if he really wants to upgrade Green he will have options to do so that don't cost a bunch of draft picks.

Is there anything we'd want from Minnesota? I'd like to add scoring.

Trying to figure out the smaller move for a big that Bulpett might be alluding to. Coming up kinda empty. Maybe Khem Birch?

While yes potentially there are teams positioned to take create a max salary slot most of those teams have young players who are do extensions, ATL specifically. While some franchises would want to stuff their roster with guys prior to handing out those extensions that is not historically ATL M.O. They took on 30 mil for next season yesterday and my guess is that will close the door on big spending from them as they prepare to pay Collins and Young.

Yes are going to be bad teams with cap space that could make a run at Hayward. But they are going to be bad teams with or without him with little chance to add help.

it’s a rain/snow combo in Massachusetts. Very little info is coming out. Ainge is just looking to bolster the bench if he does anything.

This is very reminiscent of when the deadline struck years ago and all of a sudden perk was gone.

Calling it now. Hayward traded for Drummond :P ;)

He could play the 4 for 10-15 minutes for us I guess? Be some kinda scoring threat, also not too bad from outside.

+1, and on top of that he's an unrestricted FA after this year.

Losing out in the GS deal for Robinson and Burks should tell DA that too many players with guarantee contracts limits future moves. Subsequently, any move today has to be a 3-4 to 1. We also need to package our 3 FRP for the draft for 1 pick.

Think they care more about delaying the repeater tax— they have many picks/exceptions and can find an easy way to add a better player than Looney this offseason.

I'd add to all of this that while the Burke/GRIII moves for philly make them a bit better in the RS and potentially even in the playoffs, it doesn't do much to change the dynamic between the Celts and the Sixers. If we were gonna beat them, we're not suddenly gonna get stopped by these additions and in reverse, if the Sixers beat us it won't be because of Burke/Robinson.

It's always going to come down to can we play effective defense on Embiid and do we hit our shots. Neither of these guys are strong enough defenders or shooter to fundamentally affect that outcome.

Miami i feel like has been playing over their head all season. They're a good team no doubt but i don't think they're as strong as their record nor do i think their strong play will 100% convert to the playoffs. We also match up well against them. If they get Iggy and Gallo, that changes slightly but again, I'd still favor us in that match up. Might be homer-ish but defensively we matchup great.
You can put Brown on Butler (not perfect but as good as you're gonna get), Hayward on Gallo (exactly the kind of player Hayward is well suited to defend imo) and then you can have Tatum on Iggy who's not some great shooting threat so Tatum can roam and play his great team and help D. Bam is obviously better then Theis but shouldn't kill him.

Getting Iggy helps them mostly because they actually have 2 wing defenders now so both Tatum and Brown can be covered but Gordon can still have a field day on Gallo. It makes them better yes, but doesn't fundamentally change the matchup imo.

Still no clue how we're gonna get past the Bucks but even with these moves, I don't fear Miami. Sixers will be tough but that was true yesterday as well.

Throwing a few random veteran expiring names out there who could be shooters/scorers off the bench:

(old friend) E'Twaun Moore
Marco Belinelli
Joe Harris
Wilson Chandler
Ish Smith (2 years)
DJ Augustin

Could also maybe add extra special old friend Isaiah Thomas to the list, along with Monte Morris if the Nuggets keep doing crazy stuff.
