We have Rob and Al to protect the lane, with
Gallo Grant Tatum Kornet to help.

Stevens and Ime aren't stupid.

We just lost in the finals because the warriors had the highest payroll in the league and we had the 19th highest.

The owners have the money:

Just stating how they've historically treated the luxury tax. Is irrelevant how loaded they are, if they have a certain spend threshold.

Teams typically have a higher spend threshold the closer they are to being a championship team. This is the closest we've been to a championship team since 2010.

Can't see them adding another $12 million salary considering they've already exceeded the 2010 spend.

I think our 2 2-way players should be Trevion Williams and JD Davison. Another big and another PG to bring along. But I feel like we still need a vet big behind Rob, and a bigger vet wing behind Tatum. They don't have to be starter caliber. Couldn't afford that anyway IMO. I could see them using a small part of the 17 mil TPE (don't have to use all of it) before it expires (on July 18th) along with a 2nd to get either or both if the Thomas Bryant thinig falls apart. I hope I am wrong but I actually expect Bryant to go to the Raps at this point. It's taking too long for any update for it to be just between us and the Lakers.

Biyombo, Dieng, Ibaka, Bryant, LMA. Any of them can give you 15 mpg in the regular season.

we could do much worse than Tavares for a 3rd string big, signed on a minimum contract:

7'9" wingspan. Big, strong dude who overpowers people, skilled, can block shots.

Starting center for one of the best teams in europe, Real Madrid.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

We can still use the 17 mil TPE before it expires on the 18th, we just don't have to use all of it. We could trade for a player making 2-3 mil and let the rest expire. This would save the other TPE's until the trade deadline, or next draft / offseason.

10-Man Current Depth Chart
C. R. Williams, (Horford's the backup)
PF. Horford, G. Williams
SF. Tatum, Gallo
SG. Brown, White
PG. Smart, Brogdon, Pritchard

They got 4 guys who can play pg, and 2 centers. Grant Williams rebounds like a guard, so he doesn't count as a backup center.

Remaining weaknesses are rebounding and big man depth. Brogdon can be the 3rd scorer and likely closes games.

How much money is Myles Turner making next year? He would be fantastic Rob and Al insurance but I do think Indiana could get more in a trade with real assets.

Ibaka is totally washed. LMA doesn't fit the play strengths of what we should want, IMO. Bryant probably doesn't either, but the upside makes him the best one to get IMO. Biyombo or Dieng would be really good signings relative to the role we're talking about.

If that doesn't work then trade for another big at the trade deadline.

That may be what happens bc we may not get past the Bucks with our current frontcourt.

It’s the same frontcourt they just beat the Bucks with, and that was with Timelord missing half the games?

Any chance Vanderbilt could become a decent 3-point shooter?

Lack of big man depth and lack of rebounding are the 2 areas of need now, but can't see him and Rob sharing the floor.

I think he can develop into a decent mid range guy but 3’s are a stretch. Guy just has an incredible nose for the ball and he gobbled up offensive rebounds all day long. Obviously you can’t play him alongside Rob but off the bench he would be fantastic. No chance Ainge gives him up though. Utah has no height right now so they’ll definitely hold onto him.

Im not saying I approve of this, but I could see us trading JB and White for KD and then using the TPE to absorb a Richardson or Seth Curry into the TPE to replace White

Will be interesting to see what Utah does. They have a lot of guys who could still be on the move. I wouldn't mind getting Pat Beverly, if White's moved.
