Right now if possible

If Cs don't make the Finals, trade KP, Jrue, and JB.

Start a semi-rebuild with JT and White as the core.

That’s overreaction. Who would you trade JB for? Jrue has been great in this series. KP? Yeah they need him but he’s been MIA.

Right now Cs are down 0-2 and might exit in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

With a payroll that's not sustainable, changes have to be made.

Milwaukee will want JB if Giannis wants out.

If not Giannis then I would keep JB.

But Jrue and KP have to go and the Cs need to start a semi-rebuild to get back in the hunt by 2027 or 2028.

Next season will be the transition year.

Changes will be made win or lose. Might be bigger changes if they lose. Maybe we need some Villanova guys.

Pow pow to my head, if I had to choose between keeping JT or JB I’m keeping JB.

JT will get a big haul, JB will get a small haul.

JT is an icon, a brand that sells.

So from a marketing point of view, JT is off limits.

JB had to make his own shoe company because the likes of Nike wouldn't sign JB to an endorsement deal.

At 27 years old, JT is also still getting better.

And JT is also a top 5 player in the NBA.

So, no, JT is not getting traded.

We need an actual Coach...We won last year in spite of Joe, not because of him.

I thought he was good last year. Really, it felt like the whole organization felt pressure last year, and responded with something of a needed overhaul.

This season hasn't felt the same, but I'm reluctant to judge. Last season was impressive enough to buy everyone the benefit of the doubt and a chance to do whatever they feel is best.

But even in '23, I thought he was good game 5 vs the Heat. He has shown on many occasions that he can be a good in-game coach.

And the players love him, apparently. It's not all bad, but I feel like him and Brad haven't let go of certain ideals that have led over and over again to what we are seeing right now, with no improvement over time.

I actually think there's a real chance we come back and win the series, setting two embarrassing playoff records in two games should hopefully lead to the type of urgency we saw from the start of last season.

I think it makes sense to give up JB, Jrue, and KP for prime Giannis.

Why would MIL do this?
If we fail to win it all with this group + JT, why take them at all?

Because Giannis is a free agent.

No, he isn't.

The Giannis talk is pointless he isn’t coming here and if the Celtics were interested Boston wouldn’t be on his list. So moot point. The team just needs to focus.

IMO this makes the bring back Al and Luke talk take a back seat to bigger issues facing this team.

If the Cs remove the contracts of JB, Jrue, and KP, it's much easier to retain Al and Luke.

The real question is should we? at what cost?
Kornet played well in the 2nd game but Joe decided not to use him in the 4th
Al had an off game

Yes. Glue guys over stars. Bring back Marcus too. Get some hard working players with little talent that will take this team to some hard fought 1st round eliminations but god damnit they’re dirt dogs.

Brown and picks to SAS

Kristaps and Sam Hauser and future picks to Utah

Stephon Castle, Walker Kessler, Keldon Johnson, John Collins and Harrison Barnes and alittle salary filler from JAzz (2 million) to the Celtics.

2025-26 Roster
Jrue/Pritchard/Peterson
White/Baylor/Walsh
Castle/Barnes/Johnson
Tatum/Collins/Barnes
Kessler/Horford/Kornet/Queta

Can shop off Keldon Johnson and Kornet for more savings and/or picks or upgraded backup guard.

Trades sheds 15 million in payroll

JB, Jrue, and KP will total around 110m, so that's a lot of freed cap space.

Yeah, but if the player they're getting in return is Giannis, I think Brad will pull the trigger.

If Cs make the Finals then trading JB will not be an option.

Brad and ownership will take too much heat if they trade JB and the Cs are in the Finals this year.

So get rid of good players to keep marginal players. Yikes!

Celtics are not getting Giannis, people need to stop with this nonsense. There are about 4-5 teams in the NBA that can trump the Celtics offer easily.

https://www.bostonherald.com/2025/05/08/kristaps-porzingis-opens-up-about-illness-limitations-it-just-kills-me-inside/

If the team hasn't been able to put a finger on what this guy has, what team in their right mind would touch him with a 10 foot pole.

The way he talks about his health is scary as hell for any GM or owner to read.

This guy is blessed monetarily but absolutely cursed health wise.

Not if the 3 you got rid of ends up getting you Giannis in return.

Return to Boston Celtics
