Pretty obvious IT is taking advantage of the current style of play. Again, that's not a knock. He's also taking advantage of his Coach.

Ok so you said IT+Crowder+BRK17 for Drummond right? Now build a path to contention after making that trade, please.

edit: and remember you have the 17-18, 18-19, and 19-20 season before Drummond undoubtedly opts out

Do you think, just maybe, it has to do with the defenseless basketball that is played now a days? Or maybe the fact that a defender can't even put their finger on a player without the whistle being blown. Not taking anything away from these players, but it's much more a product of rules & style of play then it is about individual talent.

If that's the case, then it seems like you would want to keep the guys that benefit the most from those rules, no?

I mean what your saying is a good point. Teams that tend to win though have a Bird, Magic, Jordan, Curry, Bron, etc. These players are there main scorer. IT is not these players, I'm sorry, and I surely don't want to pay him north of $25M. Are you saying IT is Curry maybe, in the new NBA? I don't know, I just don't see it. :banghead:

Guess what, think about what you´ll do when IT helps us raise banner 18. Cause it´s a fact and it´s happening.

I'll be right there cheering, but it doesn't mean I can't have an opinion.

You also need to consider if Drummond fits our style. I mean, the guy is a beast and is worth a decent package. But let´s not exaggerate

Lol it's crazy how opposite ends of the spectrum some of us are from each other

Drummond with 4 years left on his deal at 23 years old >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 28 year old IT with a year left

Ok so you said IT+Crowder+BRK17 for Drummond right? Now build a path to contention after making that trade, please.

Lol no, I didnt.

I responded to the guy that said Drummond isn't even worth IT straight up which I think is non sense

Nothing easy about that. I love that people here look at guys like Cousins George Butler as guys who can be had for expiring deals and non Brooklyn picks because 2K17 allows you to do so. Look Brown is coming along but to say that he's easily going to be as good as one of the best players in the league is ridiculous.

Jimmy Butler would move the needle in a big way. If you don't see that I'm not sure what else to say here...

Also that BRK 18 pick value goes away real quick if Brooklyn is able to make some deals and sign some free agents to get them out of the hell that is the bottom 5 in the league.

Jaylen Brown being an exceptional athlete and top 3 pick shows where he lies among his peers. He has glimpses of scoring ability and he's not even old enough to legally drink yet. Jimmy Butler at Jaylen's age was nothing to write home about, there's no reason to think that Jaylen can't see the kind of improvement that Butler has shown the past 4 years. You act as if Butler is some transcendent talent. He's a great player but he's no superstar or unique talent like a Giannis or Porzingis. The BKN 17 and 18 picks could end up landing us special rare talents that would otherwise cost us a boatload of assets to out right trade for.

I'm really not worried about Brooklyn improving significantly within the next year. They have a grim future right now and thats not something that is likely to attract worthy free agents.

I believe me saying borderline top 10 is not the same as transcendent. But you on the other hand and half the board seem to believe Jaylen Brown is. Interesting. Being a great athlete is all well and good but it depends what happens with it all. Brooklyn will not be as bad as they are this year next year. Too many things would have to go wrong to get the worst record unintentionally two years in a row.

You saying top 10 is not saying hes transcendent, correct. But you act as if nearing top 10 in the NBA is some unattainable feat to accomplish. Sure it's tough but players rotate in and out of the top 10 every year. Not sure where you have me saying Jaylen is a superstar talent but I do think he has all-star potential which is where Butler is now

You are correct that message was intended for SparringPartner, who in his defense said Crowder+IT+BRK18, to which I still ask the same question.

I don't even have the words to express my thoughts on a proposal this lopsided. This guy is a Celtics fan?

What teams do we think would *want* Drummond? No idea how to price him - & interesting this came out after Ibaka and Nurkic were off the market. Guessing someone who wants to trade for him waited to leak it until teams paid for the smaller fish - except the supply of assets from bidding teams *and* the supply of available bigs are lower.

Now this is something else.

Please tell me why everyone in the league isn't scoring like IT is then if his performance is purely based on "defenseless basketball that is played now a days"?

Seems to me that you just don't want to admit the guy is good at what he does and helps us win games.

Boston probably needs to send a BRK pick, how bout 2018!

Starting 5's for;

Celtics - Smart, Bradley, Brown, Horford, Drummond

Pistons - Thomas, KCP, Crowder, Harris, Baynes

I think we should try to include Brown and the BKN17 pick as well-- don't think Detroit is getting enough value.

its still a little light.... how about also including 2 or 3 more picks and Jimmy Garapolo. The Lions need a QB, right?

And IT/Crowder/BKN 18 is an overpay, so what?

Crowder/BKN 18/expirings for Drummond/Johnson I think I'd do - could put protections on the pick, like if it's in the top 3, we keep it, or swap with the Pistons' pick, but from 4 on it's all theirs.
