Report: no plans for Celtics to use $17.1 million TPE
no need to put it in bold like it's some definite thing.
1) The sub headline says "Boston could stand pat with one of their biggest offseason tools going unused" keyword in that sentence is "could". They could stand pat and not use the TPE. Could, not will. They could stand pat, but they also could use the TPE. There's nothing new in this article.
2) the article contains only speculation and heresy. There's no quotes from Brad or anyone employed by the celtics organization
3) the article goes on to ask whether ownership will give the green light to pay into the tax as much as the warriors, nets and clippers. Um, if those other teams are paying this much into the tax, why not us? If 1 of those 3 teams wins the title and we don't, then what? we just got beat in the finals by the warriors, who had the highest payroll in the league, while we had the 19th highest payroll
4) the article also explains how if we do decide to use the TPE, there's plenty of options available for good players and how Brad has shown a willingness to trade away draft picks...hmm, it sounds like there's a chance!
