I'm just sad. Not looking forward to the draft. Stevens knew he had to shake up the team but that's not the move I would have made.

Man if Brooklyn really turned down #3 + Simons for Bridges then my dream may become a reality.

Also sucks because I bought my 5yo a Brown jersey on eBay last year and does not have the Amex reassurance.

We have a 1st rounder this year and a 1st rounder next year. And we're not allowed to trade both of them in the same NBA calendar year.

So one late 1st round pick + an injured Brogdon (who isn't gonna have much trade value after the Clippers backed out of the trade yesterday b/c they were scared of his injuries). That isn't gonna get us very much..

we can trade 25 and gsw pick together too. we have all our picks so we won't violate 2 consecutive 1sts rule.

I dont think anyone is available that we'd want to pay who is worth 25/gsw/brogs together tho.

That's the question, isn't it?!?!?

Although it's hard to believe, they may actually draft someone one of these days, one never knows.

Not saying any of these guys are at all available but for multiple picks inc. GS' they've got to be looking at players (including their age/ability/contracts) eg Mikal Bridges, Wendell Carter Jr., Wiggins, Markkanen level player.

Basically akin to the Denver trade for Aaron Gordon (or MEM's trade for Marcus Smart).

I'm not sure who that is unless they really want to shell out (and roll the dice) for Zion lol. Which I don't think they want to do.

Could be some rando like Keldon Johnson but I really doubt it.

They both have basically zero trade value. They could just be a throw in, in a trade if some team really wants them.

But I doubt it.

More likely, we keep them stashed for another year, hope they take a BIG leap next season. If that happens, we'd either add them to our roster for the 2024-2025 season, or if we don't have a spot for them to get playing time, perhaps at that point we flip them in a trade..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I could be wrong but 25, 2024 (2),26,28(swap),30 and years in between (swaps) we still own. I’m talking what’s the ideal all in major move you’d give up a lot of these for.

i definitely don't have anyone in mind. just thinking there isn't a name out there that i would say brogs/25/gsw is a fair price. to me, that gsw pick could be lottery NEXT season, top 10 isn't even far-fetched.

Celtics trade Brogdon, some draft picks (2nd round) to New York for Fournier and Toppin.

Not ideal. Celtics need to turn Brogdon into a few players for depth

Brogdon won’t play another game in Boston. Think Celtics are done with him. We’ll see

we still haven't brought anyone back from overseas except yabu, i want zjoo to come over, but no room is likely. the longer he's there the less hope I have. I'm not down on yams either but I am extremely high on JD.

I could see Yams coming over this year if we trade PP. I like JD a lot but he could use another year as a 2-way to develop. If Yams doesn’t want to be 3rd string in the old PP role (pre-Brogdon) then migjt as well let that ship sale as I don’t see him getting anything more than that guaranteed going forward. He could prove himself as a straight backup but he’d have to provide it as a 3rd stringer first.

What about Jaylen for Scoot/Sharpe/Nurkic? Does anyone say no? PDX keeps Simons, Boston gets a ton of flexibility, two blue chippers and a midrange contract.

Losing two starters from an ECF team is a swerve, but..

If they can find a good deal, they'll trade him.

If not, there's no reason to think he won't be back on the team this season. They're not just gonna give him away for nothing.

He was 6MOY, we need the guard depth that he provides. He was better than Smart in most categories..

Stealing Porzingis opens up intriguing scenarios now for a legit two-timelines contender. And you can always deal your blue chipper for a star later if it’s too much youth.

I think there is a great chance Brogdon is gone tonight. We will see.

It'd be nice to have a cost-controlled offensive contributor like the Sixers have in Maxey. I don't know if Sharpe is there yet, though.

I’d highly suggest going to the Bucks board & reading their ‘Around the league’ thread & reading their thoughts on our trade.
You’ll get a good laugh.

Jaylen Brown, #25 and 2025 FRP, Nets 21 and 22, to PDX
Bridges, O'Neal and #3 to the Celtics
Sharpe and Simons to the Nets

Return to Boston Celtics
