Let's break it down Sports Science style.

George, George, George (3 times = part three) of the Jungle (remember when Pierce/Toine used to call the FleetCenter the Jungle?) Watch out for that Three (part three again, plus PG shoots threes).

Try dunking that in a suit of armor.

Lol I actually had thought of Curious George too but felt maybe that was a potential offensive connection. How many threads do we get to on this? I'm guessing 7...better load up on names.

Slart is indeed the thread title master. We can switch gears...

George Thread 3: Pritchard asks for A-Paul-ing trade haul for George. Too much for George leaves Ainge's trade asset cupboard Paul-try, only slim pick-ings left.

This too. Anybody who says Pacers have no leverage are fooling themselves. There are other teams which have made offers for George. Pick like MEM19 or LAC19 isn't really an asset which will sway a trade in your favor. You better put some quality on the table instead of quantity.

LAL18 is the most i would give from our prem assets. Otherwise, move along. I doubt Ainge will up his offer so i don't think George will be a Celtic.

That's cool. Let him enjoy building his franchise around Julius Randle. It's really working for the lakers.

I agree, LAL 18 is the best asset i offer if I have too. Otherwise this deal is BS.

I don't think anyone really knows at this point. Who knows maybe Ainge gets pissed and says I'm done with this. Teams keep trying to screw the celtics. Most GMs are jealous of Ainge.

Pretty much this. Teams are jealous and are trying to rob us. CP3 is a better player than George when healthy and go traded for a lot less... This is a travesty.
Good assessment:

The Brooklyn pick's unprotected; if you think the Lakers will be worse than the Nets that's one thing, debatable but one thing, but unprotected > protected, "warts" and all.....

The way the Lakers pick is protected almost guarantees it will be high lottery. It won't be #1, which is where the Brooklyn pick is better, but all of the conditions put on it gives it a very high probability of being a 2-5 pick in 2018 or 2019. Ainge could have simply gotten the Lakers unprotected pick, but put these conditions on it because he thought it was advantageous for the Celtics.

The future first-round pick that Boston will receive will be the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, provided that such pick is No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, or No. 5 in the 2018 NBA Draft. If the Lakers’ 2018 first-round pick is No. 1 or is No. 6 or later, the Sixers will instead convey to the Celtics the rights to the more favorable of the Sixers’ own 2019 first-round pick or the Sacramento Kings’ 2019 first-round pick, provided that the more favorable pick is not the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. If the more favorable of the Sixers’ and Kings’ 2019 first-round picks is the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Sixers will instead convey the rights to the less favorable of those two picks.

Well, I know how the Lakers/Kings pick works. I'm assuming that you think the Nets pick won't be #1, cause of course you realize we COULD have the top 2 picks of next year's draft; wipe your drool up guys.

And either way, considering the LAL/SAC pick was rumored by Adam Kaufman, that should be plenty then on top of Bradley/Crowder/etc. So I'm not sure how that suddenly turned into "no we want the Nets pick too" from the Pacers. Again, if they're that dumb, they're just that dumb.

Celtics take it or leave it offer to the Pacers should be.

Avery Bradley
Jae Crowder
Lakers Pick
Memphis Pick

Teams should stop thinking because the Celtics has lots of assets doesn't mean they can screw over the Celtics. That's not going to happen.

The Pacers absolutely should hold the Celtics up for as many assets as possible. If the Celtics get Hayward and a re-signed George, that's a contending team. What is that worth? Pritchard knows it's worth a lot. So he absolutely ought to see if Ainge will blink. He may not, in which case we'll keep going down this road, probably until we only have enough assets left to make a fair deal.

CP3 doesn't count, that was basically a S&T

It is INSANE, but I think the above is DEAD on! Ainge offers a better deal than anyone else can offer, but Pritchard goes with a lesser deal because of the "AINGE" factor? Craziness...

These type of GM's should be fired on the spot for their selfishness and not doing what is best for their TEAM.

Froob wrote:Wonder if the Lakers are actually prepared to give up Ingram or Lonzo. Keep Tatum, Brown, IT, SAC-LA, Brooklyn and find a way to make it happen. Trade for Davis next year.

IT/Hayward/Brown/George/Davis

Many titles. Fin.

I think IT/Horford and both 2018 picks at trade deadline for Davis would give NO a decent team for now and the future. As it stands they are going nowhere, but of course they would shoot that down. It would suck to lose IT, but Davis would be worth it.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Couldn't we give them the worse of the two picks?

So build in a contingency depending on where the picks actually end up? Knowing Danny he's probably asked, but definitely a great idea.
