Not a very sound analysis as Theis almost always plays with the starters while any mins Theis and TL have played together was no doubt with at least one awful scrub.

I'd say Theis is still the more sound defender but Rob simply has much more impact on the game

So that usually means Theis goes up against starting bigs, right? Whereas Rob goes up second unit stiffs and scrubby players.

Rob also spends a ton of time alongside Tatum, who usually carries our second units.

Rob is more impactful on offense, but defensively he's just not there yet.

Theis has been a pro player for almost a decade at this point. Rob barely has over 1000 pro minutes. It's not really a fair comparison. I'd predict 28-year old Rob will be so much better than 28-year old Theis it will be frightening. Prime Theis is a nice solid player. Prime Rob will be a monster

I will take Rob's potential over whatever Theis is now. But right now, I trust Theis more than Timelord on defense. But since we're not winning anything this season anyway, have at it, trade the vets and play the young, high upside guys.

I'm not even the one who compared them. My post just implied that our defense is better with BOTH Timelord and Theis on the floor. That our defense has struggled with Timelord being the lone big. Theis knows the schemes and is a better communicator at this point in time. So he helps Rob there.

Opponents have figured this out it seems and the refs have been calling more of these as offensive fouls because **** the refs.

I think that's fair and I'm sure Theis gives Brad the warm and fuzzies a lot more than Rob does at this point as well. If Bam hadn't utterly destroyed Theis in the playoffs last year I would suspect Rob would still be nailed to the bench. But that series is forcing the FO to re-evaluate how they think about bigs. Danny plainly said Bam was the difference in the series and they're not going to go forward with their mediocre bigs they've been employing in the Brad era and maybe longer with Danny. They're going to take a chance on developing bigs, something the franchise has never really done outside of the pedestrian Perk. Going to be fun.

I was about to say, even Rob was called for the OF on a Theis seal vs Utah. It's hurt our offense quite a bit and made Theis a lot less valuable
