My one week away prediction (which will change every day) is that the Celtics "will" go into the tax and it will be for some opportunistic trade that will cost very little.

Something like Malik Beasley absorbed into the Evan Fournier TPE for Langford, Schroder and a 2nd round pick. Minny up against the tax.

Who knows? Fun time of the year. Celtics playing well and trade deadline one week away. Will be interesting to see what Brad Stevens does over the next week.

Again the most likely scenario is moving Schroder and getting below the tax.

Juancho be sad when these are all gone?

Celtics no longer have the Kemba Walker TPE and have a new $6.9 Juancho TPE.

$6.9, $9.7 and $17.1 Celtics TPEs.

Celtics have some tools if they choose to use them

That was my mildly humorous point. And technically we do have some of the Kemba TPE remaining, just not that much. It's like $1M, which is basically worthless.

If he ends up here, and Smart remains, you gotta bring Smart off the bench, no? Beal is a good enough passer, Tatum is a good enough playmaker, you don't really need Smart's passing in the starting lineup at that point.

But off the bench, he can really help create for whatever bench pieces we'd have. I would think the bench unit would need more playmaking stability than the starters.

No. I think if you bring in Beal to play with Tatum and Brown you will still need a PG and Smart is the perfect guy. At that point Brown and Tatum move to the 3 and 4.
