Who says he was driving?

Hollywood is about 30 minutes away from Miami.

Nobody, but why go so far away? Even if he's not driving it's still a late night before a playoff game. I'm thinking either this is a bogus story or there was no driving and the team is staying around there to give them something to do but not "South Beach" stuff to do.

Ha you're right I didn't even notice the Hollywood part. What a ritard! I was thinking the one in Tampa the whole time and was VERY confused. Ignore all previous posts, him being out till midnight is no big deal at all.

Well, it could be the one in Tampa or the one in Hollywood. The picture only establishes that's it's at a seminole hard rock hotel and casino...which are all over florida.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Doesn't matter to me at all. He can do whatever he wants as long as he shows up to play. You can't expect everyone to be like Ray Allen.

I expect these guys have a drastically different wake hours schedule than us working stiffs. Usually they`re traveling home immediately after road games, I doubt many of them are up at 6 a.m. on a regular basis

And sitting at a 5-10 poker table for a few hours, there are lots of things he could have been doing to get in more trouble in Miami I`m sure.

I know..just imagine what Nate, Baby, Marquis and our Wade stopper are doing out in South Beach..that place is heaven on earth and Paul is out playing poker...I'll take it..unless he gets a paper cut from a card on his shooting hand, there really is no problem in what he did..

There is a big difference between going out to the clubs and getting crazy and going to a casino and playing a few rounds while sipping some drinks.

The only part that worries me is the wine. Wine makes me so slow the next day. I can drink a few beers and not even know the difference the next morning... but with wine... you know the next day.

That's awesome dude, but makes me freakin' worried about how hung over the entire team is going to be today when we play in MIA. You know PP, Sheed and TA were out partying in South Beach last night with his hunnies! :o

this is what Doc was talking about before when he said how tough it was to play in miami and NYC. I think this is immature on Pierce's part but he has all day to rest so I doubt it impacts his performance. still it shows a lack of maturity

The only thing that worries me is that this is the GOOD outcome for what they did the night before.

Are you guys all seriously freaking out over this?

He was in a casino....unwinding.....the day before the game. It's not like he was seen drinking a few hours before the game. MANY people have a cocktail before settling down for the evening.

Also, his body mass is a lot different than you and me....what might get you drunk/tipsy may not even register as a blip in a 6'7 230 pound dude.

As others have said, I'd be more worried about the younger guys on the team than Paul. He'll be ready to play.

Um... NO... we KNOW PP was out, by himself, playing cards and sipping wine. That is very different then "out partying in South Beach last night with his hunnies".

LOL @ all the people thinking he went 4 hours north to the Hard Rock in Tampa when the first sentence in my OP clearly states that this was in Hollywood, FL. Hollywood is about 30 minutes north of Miami and I think a lot of sports teams that come down here for big games (playoffs, superbowl, etc.) don't actually stay in Miami or South Beach but closer to Ft. Lauderdale, to keep the temptation of partying away from the visiting players. Pierce was probably staying in a nearby hotel and had a driver.

Also, I said he had a few glasses of wine and seemed like he could be tipsy. He certainly wasn't drunk and him being buzzed is even questionable. It just seemed that way to me when he got a little loose in cursing out his friend but maybe that's just his personality.

Unless he was drinking cranberry juice in wine glasses, he most certainly was drinking wine. I play poker in that room a lot and wine/cognac is the only thing you'll get in that kind of glass. Mixed drinks would be in a normal plastic cup.

BTW, the little stack in the picture is not mine-- there was somebody sitting between us. PP seemed to do all right at the table but I don't know how much money he was in for. I'm guessing he walked away with about $1300-1500.

And yeah, I agree with the last few posters....it's really not a big deal. The guy has to do something to unwind the night before a game, he's not gonna be hungover, and he wasn't out real late. Living in Miami for a few years now, I've seen MUCH worse by pro ball players the night before big games. Let's watch him take care of business tonight against the Heat and all these freakout posts will be moot.
