Really enjoying two "Insiders with Sources" going at each other like there is a top of the mountain for Twitter "Insiders with Sources" to get to.

Smitty, ddb, and few other posters is as much insider as I need. Shams, Woj, Stein, and another reporter or two will finish the job if it gets done.

Last note I can share. He thinks Westbrook is a goner this summer. Not necessarily to Boston, but that Boston is equipped to get a deal done tomorrow if Danny is willing to include a couple specific chips that Presti wants.

I saw this but it made me think that Lebron hasn't resigned yet, maybe the Cavs are also contemplating a Westbrooke deal even if for a one year rental just to try and stick it to Golden state and Durant.

Players do have a ton of power in the league today, teams tiptoe around stars. It would be an interesting rebuke to Durant or Westbrook to trade Russ somewhere for a poor return.

I don't see any sense in okc moving WB for a discount in July. Fringe contenders and wannabes get desperate as fuch as the season progresses to add that piece that will put them over the top. Russ is the god version of that piece, the type of player who is rarely on the market when the $hit gets thick. WB carries crazy demand at any point between now and the deadline. He's going to suffer too this season if he refuses to pick a destination, I question his mettle on that once things kick into gear, he's trapped somewhere he doesn't want to be and the season moves along at a snails pace. We all know how much Russ loves hearing this stuff from reporters everyday lol

Obv. Presti is not going to get 100% potential value for him regardless, but even the discount is going to be a haul. GM's are going to lose their minds trying to get up in that westbrook ass once the stakes are raised and the kid ain't gonna pout the season away in protest. mebets everyone puts on their man pants at some point and he agrees to an extension while someone trades off half the franchise for the rights. Does it happen this summer, f'd if I know. Happens when Russ decides to start thinking about his future imo. I don't think Presti has to cave on this any time soon.

It still makes zero sense for Westbrook to extend right now to a team not of his choosing. He is taking less money with the cap going up next offseason.

If the price is too high, just find a way to gauge interest from Westbrook/Griffin's people in signing with the Celtics once they're FAs. I know that's against the rules or whatever, but I'm sure teams are still doing it anyway. So while Danny's negotiating a trade with their teams, gauge their willingness to re-sign/extend with the Cs (in case a deal goes down) and at the same time get a sense if we can just sign those guys outright next summer (in case no trade is executed).

Rozier is also looking like he has a few all star seasons in him. Kid has all the tools to be really good. I wouldn't trade either guy at this point.

So my best assumption of what could be happening (if there's any cred to what Deadmik3 says)

-Mik3y said that the deals are changing, i.e. no more Sacramento in the talks, it's straight Boston and Clippers. This means Gay is out, we offered Bradley and picks.. and maybe some rooks. The Clippers don't want Bradley but Crowder who we are reluctant to give for anybody.

-The Clippers are reluctant to trade hence there's no real trade talks. Okay, I mean seriously, there's ALWAYS trade talks. Ainge said so. If you're a damn journalist you should know what the guy you follow actually says. "Ainge and Rivers didn't talk", everybody knows we almost got Blake at the deadline and Ainge said that deadline deals are really complicated and rarely happen. The fact it was close to happening means they discussed it at more than a high level. And everybody knows that all GMs talk all the time. You mean to tell me that Ainge never picked up a phone, dialed Doc and said "hey what would you hypothetically want for Griffin?" LOL

-Westbrook: Deadmik3 said Westbrook won't finish the season on his team. The fact the OKC never made it public that they want to trade him doesn't mean all other teams are stupid and just waiting for OKC to call them. Everyone knows their situation, even the stupidest fans. They'll move him for the right price.

Ultimately, Deadmik3 has been told that the Clippers and the Celtics are negotiating and Danny has a strategy that he uses all the time (remember 3 or 4 different GMs calling Danny the most annoying person in the world few years back?) My best guess is that we will give them Crowder, maybe Rozier but not the picks. That's what Mik3y has been hinting at because then the Celtics become massive, the Clippers become massive as they have a guy to compete with Iguodala, Durant etc, but Ainge is dragging it out because he doesn't want to lose the pick. Jae is young enough to be considered valuable enough on his own without any picks.

I really value jae in terms of team building, i mean you got one of the best, if not the BEST contract for a 3 and D wing, his contract and defensive capability from the 3-4 makes our team easier to build around. If we lose Jae and get griffin in return we do get stronger and be able to challenge the cavs but with Jae we open up a lot more options on the table than what griffin and his soon to be MASSIVE contract would limit our team options. It's a good thing that DA mentioned that he does not want to break the Core if needed. As a lot of people said that Patience is the key. IMO we should not force ourselves in a rental and just wait it out for a year since we both got an up and coming brown with 2017 nets pick and 4 years on Horford and Jae.
