Re: The Kyrie support thread - he still bleeds green
It's so funny that these fans would rather have try-hard losers than winners. For as much as Kyrie is flawed, and he is very flawed as a leader for sure, this is a no-brainer guys. Bring him back.
If not, you're a treadmill team, or in a rebuild if you let all your free agents go. Simple. Not a contender, a pretender, aka the Pacers.

The title of this thread was the forum equivalent of waving a cape in a bullfight arena. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

OldCeltics wrote:No he doesn't bleed green, stop being ridiculous. He didn't even have Celtics on his list of trade destinations. He can't commit to Celtics now. He criticizes the team in public. He never bought in, and is leading the team to disaster, though he is a super star. He has no friends on Celtics besides Tatum.
I support Kyrie staying, but only if he doesn't lead the team, stops trashing team in media, and signs long term.
This. He's a self-absorbed, blithering idiot. We should have been clued in by his stopping talking to his last Cleveland team--through the playoffs!
But if he'll stop sharing his toxic thought process with the press and be a good soldier following a new leader next season, while attracting that new #1, he'll be fine.
I'm not holding my breath, however--I think he's gone.

Unless they're winning. Add KD and/or AD along with KI, and they've got a pretty good chance of that, at least relative to their last few decades.

It is sad that a thread of this purpose is felt to require an untruth in the title.
He's still a Boston Celtic until proven otherwise!

A question for you guys. English is not my idioma so...
I didnt like last Kyrie Interview (Yesterday): said he would like to be much closer to Stevens. And said: he never had to coach a player like me before.
You people like that kind of statement?

I'll let Kyrie answer that:
"Oh, man, I wouldn't want to be with another coach," Irving said

Paul Pierce was a bigger jerk in 2004-05 than Kyrie has been of late. He turned it around, as will Kyrie.

Re: The Kyrie support thread - he still bleeds green
I want Kyrie to stay long term.
That said, not only does he not currently "bleed green", I don't think he ever has to this point. That's not anything against him, really, he was traded here after all. But if we're going to say Kyrie "bleeds green" then we should retire the phrase since it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Re: The Kyrie support thread - he still bleeds green
It's kind of funny that Kyrie has played probably better than last year while Tatum, Jaylen, Rozier all didn't improve while Hayward is a gimp but Kyrie is the big problem on the team. If they all played at the same level we'd be the 1 or two seed right now...

Issue is better is not good enough. We don't celebrate second round exits in Boston. We celebrate contenders.

He's having a great year, with career bests in FG%, 3PT%, rebounds and assists, despite playing less minutes than four of his seasons in Cleveland.
