It actually counts thrice: our record, keeping the Kings out of the playoffs, and keeping the Clippers in the playoffs.

Yea, forgot about that one. It'd be solid 4 games lead for the Clippers over Kings and about 4 games for the Spurs.
Good assessment:

Don't even think about it, you bunch of babies. Win by 30 and get the starters out of there.

So naturally since the C's blew GS out last night, they're going to get blown out by the Kings, right?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Kings have slipped a bit lately since Bagley got hurt. He's been really good for them and commanded their second unit.

This is going to be a brutal B2B, since the Kings play at an insane pace. Very good that the Celtics got rest for their starters last night, they're going to need it.

Celtics are going have size/scoring advantages inside against everyone tonight not named Giles or Koufos (who rarely plays); Giles is a a very underrated defender.

Too easy haha.

Unless you're a star-level scorer or the most relied upon scorer on a bad team, it's kinda hard to put up 30 pts in a game in Brad's system it seems.

This is the most important game of the season.

The Kings have an EXTREMELY easy rest of season schedule... we truly need to be one of the few above .500 teams they face and as the record indicates beat them.

A loss here could cost us a first round draft pick (who knows if the Clips can get anyone next off season... take the pick today). And cost us about 5 spots in the Kings draft pick they're giving us.

The Kings are in a dangerous position though, if they get too far behind no matter how easy their schedule is (one of the easiest in the NBA) they won't have enough to make it up.

I'd take 1,000,000,000 losses to GS last night for a win tonight.

I'm willing to stake my lifelong fandom on this -- Smart is gonna be at the forefront (top 4 player on the team) when the Celtics raise banner 18. I was so happy we were able to retain him. The guy understands what it takes to win. Happy birthday, mah dude!

Three are easy. Kyrie, IT, and Hayward. For the fourth, I will guess Uncle Jeff?

That was an intelligent guess. And a correct one.

I really believe the Celtics will lose this one. Last night was just a weird game. I don't like the Kings so I hope the Celtics prove me wrong.

This road trip, minus the B2B, is pretty easy travel wise. OAK to SAC is a 20-minute flight then a couple of nights in LA. It makes you wonder why the NBA has teams play B2B's with a 4 hr flight mixed in. There is no way you get optimum performance in that situation.

If we are going to lose any game on this trip it better be to the Clips. I want this win to prove last night wasn’t just a fluke and obviously for the pick. I also want to slap the Lakers around, bury them by 50+.
“There’s a sense of pride, there’s an edge you have to have to play here. I can only imagine the love, the reception, if you hung one of those banners up. It would be incredible — it’s going to be incredible. I know it.” —Jayson Tatum

I completely disagree. Brad's system is the modern NBA. Drive and kick with 3 pointers and layup/dunks prioritized. We were tops in the league along with HOU as an early adopter of 3s and dunks with Brad's system for years.

That's also why IT had career years and nearly AVERAGED 30ppg here because he can drive and kick.

It's an explosive system however we don't have the talent (someone again... that can drive and kick) to actually make the engine purr.

We're basically running Brad's system without any oil and the wrong type of gas.

Right now our top free throw drawers on the team are Irving with 3.5 FTA/g and Tatum with 3 FTA/g. That's pathetic. Both are GREAT players, and they would be phenomenal in this system consistently dropping 30 points because they can finish at the rim when the defense is in rotation if they had someone to start the engine for Brad's system for them.

Irving is tied for 63rd best FTA/g . And Tatum is tied for 78th best FTA/g in the NBA.

Brad's gotta come out today at shootaround and give this one simple message, and they will win the game, 100%!!

"Guys - It's Marcus' birthday today. If we win tonight, we are going to Vegas right after the game, first round's on me at whatever club you guys wanna hit up. If we lose, I'll still pay for the first round, but it's going to be at Applebee's, right here in Sacramento."

I copied this from another forum. I cannot vouch for its veracity, but it feels right.

The 2018/19 Boston Celtics are:

(19-4, .826) when Gordon Hayward has ≥ 12 points
And
(16-20, .444) when Gordon Hayward has ≤ 11 points or does not play
