Large expiring contract of a player capable of playing like an all-star. Valuable commodity for trader Dan to play with. To reach the next level we'll need to make some moves and he will be one of our best pieces to make a move with.

It’s def something to seriously consider but I still don’t think it will happen

His expiring is a big chip, pairing that and 14 could bring back a pretty sweet return.

Plus he’s not opposed to being moved.

Totally agree on 1st part....where’d u hear the 2nd? or maybe not from who but is that opinion or from someone u trust

What I have heard, which obviously take with a large grain of salt, is that he doesn’t want to be moved, but wouldn’t put up much of a fight if Danny approached him.

I wonder what’s the best return we can get for him...have to be consolidated for depth I’d imagine.

Perfect, now the Celtics can ship him into Cleveland's cap space for Cleveland's #5 pick.

it's kinda sad that we're all looking to deal our 2nd best player but so much has happened to bring us to this point. The injury kept him off the court and he's still not 100% and likely never will be. This has made him an outsider and he's the old man compared to the rest of these kids. The offense should flow through him but instead he's been playing 4th fiddle. That's terrible coaching. I fully expect him to go somewhere and put up 20-6-5 and make that team better. He cannot stay here. Not and us expect a different result next season.

Good for him. Go slaughter a goat somewhere and get out if the injury issues, which killed him for 3 years here.

Dude is worth money when healthy.

Part of me thinks one of the reasons they wanted him to play these playoffs is to show a team they can get something out of him next year when he's 100% and wasn't a complete cripple...

To get Wiggins off their books so they can do S&Ts for Giannis, Kawhi etc next year

But you need salary on the books to do S&T?

They have Draymond. If you're getting Giannis you'll live without Draymond..

Guessing that was one of the reasons he stayed in the bubble— dont think he’ll have a title shot next year and guessing he knows it

If it was just that they’d never have played him. His injury is an injury he shouldn’t have even went out and played in and wouldn’t have if it wasn’t the post season. They played him because they needed him bc our depth was terrible and they also feel a sense of owing him the opportunity to finally be here for a playoff run and actually play.

They wouldn’t have thrown him out there as he was if they didn’t think he could be better than the alternative

Not necessarily a bad contract but a longer term contract. Trade an expiring for someone on a 3-4 year deal.

Exactly. It's not just about who the players involved are, it's about maintaining cap flexibility by having guys with bird rights. The Celtics are super capped out right now... because Horford walked for nothing AND Kyrie walked for nothing.

C's aren't going to be FA players for probably the next decade after Tatum gets his max deal and smart reups. Go get picks and rights to decent young players..

I’m not arguing they shouldn’t but my stance is they won’t trade him. Just don’t see brad not getting his way here (which is an issue for sure)and I think brad’s way is gonna give Hayward the benefit of the doubt. Incredible loyalty to each other and on brads part it may go to the point where he’s blinded by sentimality.

Keep an eye on Indy as a potential trade partner. Deal built around Hayward/picks/Kanter or Theis for Turner/Warren

And then what? Sign him to another big deal when the core of our team is in their early 20s? It makes zero sense. And he can't just walk for nothing. We have to deal him now..

And you’re sure they won’t try and get him on a lower annual salary and extended a few years? On a more movable contract ? I’m not. Again your coming at me like I’m saying they shouldn’t trade him.......I’m not.

I’m saying I dont think they will. I think brad wants him, Brad trusts him and I think brad will win that fight. I could be completely wrong and I hope I am but Let’s see. I understand the contract complications and I see the reports from bontemps that he’ll opt in....let’s see what happens
