Re: Trade Ideas Thread, Part 2
Potential bench scorer targets: Schroder, D-Rose, Warren, Redick, D.Brooks, McDermott, Mills, Curry, Redick, Gay
Hayward, Edwards for Rudy Gay, Patty Mills, and Tyler Filler
Both Mills and Gay are expiring but we might be able to convince either one to re-sign on short contract after next season. Mills can convince fellow Boomer Aron Baynes to come back to Boston as an FA. All three have played under Pop, which is always a plus. VETS! SCORING! BANGER BIG!
Kemba / Fire / Ice / Gay / Timelord
Mills / Cobra / Ro-Ro / The General / BDE
rooks, SexPants, Bangers
I think we duck the tax with that deal. If Baynes is in, maybe trade Poirier into someone's TPE to make room for a minimum vet. Tacko and #47 as two-ways.

Every trade I propose for him is what I think should be considered....but I agree I don’t think he gets traded

No, Danny will not keep a player around just because the coach likes him.

He will trade Hayward AND Brad if there's a deal out there that will make us better.

My guess is if they trade Gordon to anywhere other than Indiana, that it signals Brad is also gone. No way they tick off Brad by not only trading his free agent signed college player, but then trade him to a crap destination after all he's been through with the team.
I think Gordon's either staying or headed to Indy.

Danny doesn't screw his big players in deals for the most part. It's likely that if he's traded, Gordon will be OK with it and so will Brad, imo.

What if brads argument is it doesn’t make us better and ainge is thinking about the future? I don’t it’s a slam dunk

Ainge has the longer view in the room when talking about "making us better".

Re: Trade Ideas Thread, Part 2
John Collins is a guy who the Hawks might not even extend for the rookie max. The idea that a tall jumpy guy who catches lobs and does some spot-up shooting is more valuable than Hayward and 14 is a little misinformed. A wing who can defend, switch, create his own shot and create for others is the most valuable asset in basketball.
75% of Collins's 2 pointers are assisted. 99% of his 3s are assisted. He depends on others to create for him even more than Deandre Jordan.

I agree...I just think with brads connnection to Hayward and a coach always wanting what’s best for the team in the immediate- it’s not a given but we will have to see

I think Brad is a big boy and can handle it if Ainge trades away Hayward. I'd be very surprised if Brad started whining about it or threatened anything to keep Hayward here. Look at the team Brad had when he first got here, 100 moves later look what he has. I think he's probably ok with whatever Ainge decides.

Tatum is 22 years old
Brown is 23 years old
Smart is 26 years old
RW3 is 22 years old
Langford is 20 years old
G Williams is 21 years old
Any Gordon Hayward trade has to bring back a young piece either off someone's roster or the draft that can grow with that group otherwise I am not interested. Young vet in the 22-27 year old range. Celtics can get vets through the vet min contracts, trading late first round picks or with the MLE.

yet people complain that we didn't win it all this year and brad should be fired... blah blah blah.
Some people don't always see the big picture.

I say at least "kick the tires" though Cousins and boy-scout locker-room Brad might be a disaster waiting to happen

Proposed Rotation, 2020-21:
Kemba - Brown - Tatum - G.Williams - Turner
Smart - Langford - Lamb - McDermott - R.Williams/Theis
Waters - Wanamaker/Edwards - (Rookie)
Maine Red Claws = (Rookie), Fall
Not sure why we need to give up ANY picks in that deal. I like Turner, but Hayward is the best player in that deal and Lamb is coming off from basically destroying his leg and probably has little value right now. I Hayward for Turner/McDermitt is a pretty even Swap to be honest.

Nah.
Coming off an ACL tear and an achilles tear a few years ago? Pass. Howard was healthy, just a garbage person (he lost a lot of weight too) before he got back to LA.
