Basically a Tyler Herro kind of pick.

Great shooter. Willing to move hard w/o ball.
Fine NBA athleticism, but nothing special in that regard. (Ahead of Herro there.)
Smart/savvy/hustling enough to make some kinds of additional plays. (Defense for him, rebounding for Herro.)
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

This guy could easily be Semi Ojeleye after a couple years, I have faith. He really turned a nice hotstreak of 115 3s attempted into getting drafted this high.

I love this pick. Exactly what we need. Shooting with size, work ethic, and a great attitude.

He's not got the vision of Herro, can assure you of that. He's a very good shooter but don't think he's head and shoulders better than some other options in this draft. His 3pt shooting this year needs to be taken with a grain of salt as it was just 14 games and against a bunch of crummy non conf opponents. Most of the guys defending him this year will be selling insurance in a year.

He shot 34% from 3 in SEC play last year. I don't think that's who he is but he's not Ray Allen either.

The thing that scares me is he is a horrid, horrid passer/playmaker. 0.9 APG on his usage basically means he is a black hole. That's why I say Troy Daniels. I get he is taller and I actually think he will be a solid defender if he gets a bit more focused and in better NBA conditioning. But if he doesn't shoot, he's completely useless on offense.

Troy Daniels averaged 12 points a game as a 21-year-old senior in a mid-major conference.

This dude averaged 23 points a game in the SEC as a 20-year-old sophomore.

I agree he needs to do more than be a standalone shooter but man let's hope we got more than Troy Daniels.

Except he doesn’t need to do anything more than be a stand alone shooter. That is literally what we most want an need.

Drafting need in the lotto is almost always, unequivocally, a mistake. We could just pick up a spot up shooter with the MLE if we want. Just go sign Jae or KCP or someone like that - inevitably will be a guy like that available in FA who will be better than Nesmith in that pure 3-and-D spot up role.

Blah blah blah cliche..... Nesmith was not a reach. He was picked where he deserved and he’s a shooter. Very good pick.

Horrible pick. Hope he proves me wrong. That is all the positive I can say about this pick at the moment.

I'll say this, I love Nesmith at 14 about 10x more than I do Pritchard at 26. So there's that.

YESSSSSSSSSS

That's Great.
I hope that a lot of that carries over to the NBA.

Small sample size, though, due to injury.

Any caveats about sample size should be accompanied by caveats about the boost of NBA spacing (and suddenly not being a focal point of defenses).
