As much as I love basketball, the NBA isn't necessarily the best culture for role models haha

Pierce is a good guy, just a part of the culture and lifestyle of an NBA star fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your views.

Not sure why you’d single out the NBA. This happens across all professional sports. My co-worker’s son used to run a pub-crawl down in Edmonton, and he used to get a lot of visiting NHL players who’d take part when they were in town for a game. He hooks up players with a ton of blow. Cocaine use is pretty rampant in the NHL, which shouldn’t really be a shocker to anyone who watches hockey, since you see players sniffing smelling salts right on the bench.

Also, about 8-9 years ago, I somehow got invited to party at Zach Bogosian’s condo (defenceman who used to play for the Jets, currently playing for the Leafs). Place was filled with young girls. Had to leave because I had to pee. All the bathrooms were occupied the whole time I was there. Gosh, I wonder what was going on in there? Anyhow, a few years later, he and Jacob Trouba (another d-man) were out with “injuries”. Turns out that both were in rehab.

Reasons why I singled out the NBA

1. This is a Celtics forum for the NBA
2. Paul Pierce played for the Celtics and the NBA

Yes drugs are prevalent across all of sports. Cocaine is definitely an issue in the NHL as are pain killers. Same for WWE and NFL football players due to CTE and collision damage. If this were an NHL forum I'd have touched base on it. If it were an NFL forum etc. Trust me, a former Patriot used to DM my ex girlfriend all the time and he was married with kids. He even invited her to a Houston Texans game in his luxury suite. Its not the healthiest culture when guys have the ability to get whatever they want in the snap of a finger.

Not a great look for Pierce towards his family. Can't be publicly asking a stripper to come through to a party. Nothing wrong with playing cards while there's entertainment in the background.

I'm have no idea if his family is okay with this so this could all be nothing

Maybe PP not the best mentor for our team of sluggish young "stars".

Pierce is right up there with Bird as my favorite players of all time.

But even if “this is normal” you have to admit Paul hasn’t exactly distinguished himself in retirement yet.

Which is a shame because if he wanted to mentor JB and JT that would’ve been great, but getting close to the point where that ship has sailed.

Looks like a perfectly good role model to me.

Pierce is my role model. Def needs to get someone who gives a better shoulder massage, though. That **** looks really weak.

It was a couple of years ago when Pierce offered to teach JT how to get foul calls when driving to the basket--and KG even made a point of telling JT to take Paul up on the offer in front of Danny and the video camera.

JT was too Kobe cool for that, however--and still clueless as to the skill PIerce was offering to coach him in. (Pierce's career FTA per 100 possessions a cool 73% higher than JT's.)

Not going to judge Pierce.

But is this a good look for him if he wants to work in an NBA front office once day? Maybe he doesn’t. Not sure.

Also doesn’t he work for ABC still? Not sure they would be ok with this.

I’ve never liked Pierce.

The guy is dumber than a bag of rocks and thinks he is MJ.

It was the gyrating scantily-clad woman bouncing chips off her butt that particularly set the tone for me.

Well for me, it's not necessarily what he was DOING, it's that he recorded it and showed it to everyone, lol. That ain't normal to see from someone of his stature.

Yeah, I would hate it if my kid reached the top of his profession, made hundreds of millions of dollars, and retired before he turned 40 to smoke weed and play video games with his boys while scantily-clad hot women lounged around. Sounds awful.
