Looking at the East. Bucks/Nets are guaranteed to be good. 76ers have the Simmons situation, so they may drop a spot or 2 unless that's all salvaged. Heat/Celtics/Hawks/Knicks/Bulls should all be in the mix as well. East is deeper than most years. I actually think the Knicks/Hawks are less likely to be as high in the standings this year VS teams like Boston/Miami/Chicago who I think will all be better.

I expect Boston to win on the road opening night at MSG. Big nights from Tatum & Brown. Solid debut from Schroder.

Heat with Lowry are a different beast. I have Heat anywhere from 1-3 seed. Opening night should be fun. Attack Kemba!

Heat will worry me more if they are healthy come playoff time. Butler/Lowry are getting up there in miles. I fully expect those two to miss plenty of games and coast at times during the regular season. I see Miami in that #4 spot at best. More likely #5 or #6.

All jokes aside about 'must win' for Game 1, but it's actually important bigger picture too. Knicks are in our division and generally in that 2nd tier fighting for a spot in the 4-6 range to avoid a play-in. They took 2/3 from us last year, including an absolute teeth-kicking early in the year (granted, while Tatum was out with COVID).

These are the kind of games that end up mattering down the stretch when you're bunched up in the mid-40s in wins. Would be great to take one of these early while we're generally healthy and ready to rock.

I don't think Al will be available. He has to quarantine for 10 days and then pass two covid tests. So he should be good to go soon but not by Wed if I'm doing the math right.

Are all players vaccinated?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I think so. Only one who said he wasn't vaxxed on media day was Richardson, and he ended up getting his shot after that I believe.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I hope both can play opening night but we should prepare as if at least one of them is going to miss the game :(

I don't know how many shots he got. But my understanding is he's vaccinated now. So he either got two shots or just the single shot J&J vax. He is planning to play in NYC. When he realized he wouldn't be able to play opening night that's what made him get vaxxed.

Looks like both Brown and Horford are maybe, maybe not in terms of whether they'll play vs Knicks..

That would be funny to me because I think everyone should get vaccinated but visiting players are completely exempt from the mandates in the New York and California. He didn't need to get vaxed to play opening night

Makes sense, Jaylen tested positive the 8th so his last day of quarantine should be today. Horford was reported on the 12th so unless he tested positive several days earlier than it was reported there was no way he was clearing the 10 day quarantine by Wednesday.

Yeah I thought of that too. I'm guessing no one told him that though because they wanted him to get vaccinated haha.
