Only Al Horford, Robert Williams and Dennis Schroder played well enough to justify their court time tonight.

An alternative view:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+23.5 Al Horford (26 minutes)
+23 Robert Williams III (30 minutes)

+15 Dennis Schroder (34 minutes)
+13 Jayson Tatum (36 minutes)

+6 Jabari Parker (9 minutes)

+3 Grant Williams (16 minutes)
+2 Josh Richardson (15 minutes)
+2 Marcus Smart (36 minutes)
+2 Jaylen Brown (37 minutes)

There's no reason whatsoever that smart should be starting over schroder. All of us are constantly being reminded of his winning plays but the dude is shooting 27% for the season in 24% for threes. I don't think I've ever seen a worse shooter as a starting point guard..

Smart isn't the only issue though but he's a big part of it. Brown and Tatum are completely inconsistent as well.

I don't know it's just tough to like this team at this point it just a repeat of last year so far.

Quinn Buckner had to start once..

I blame ESPN for this hot take era of sports fandom. Every loss is a crisis. Every bad game means we should trade the players and fire the coach.

Yep, we played bad and lost. It’s also game 5 with a new coach and a bunch of new guys. Do whatever you want but I’m going to…. be patient for a while and see how things develop! :o

I think the Celtics are going to be real active around the mid season trade deadline

Heard this all last year. AL and Timelord have played good. They should be better. Period. They have a better roster than last year

with maybe a worse coach :nonono:

This is all, good and well. but our knew coach better make adjustments because this is the same old shet, but maybe worse that last year.

Uh…

I feel like our guys are too friendly. They always got friends from the opposing teams. They coast early on before it bites them in the ass. I hate the Celtics effort for the past 2 seasons. Talent was bad last year along with a lot of injuries, the Celtics should be much better than this. Gotta develop good habits early in the season. So far they’re looking like a bad team with these inconsistencies and effort

Well at least it was just once. Ime isn't doing this team justice by continuing to start smart over Dennis schroder.

haven't heard once about brown coming off of COVID since game 1 but last season I saw it after every poor game from guys who had it last season. need a little more fairness in how people are talked about. jb has to play better for sure, but let's not act like he didn't just have COVID and jumped back into action playing a lot of minutes. he's been bad in the games we had a drag-out fight the game before.

Tatum in the 4th Quarter:

0/3 FG
2/4 FT

2 points

That's not the path to greatness, Tatum. Stars show up in the 4th.

Same record as the Nets though after five games

In other news the Lakers just lost to OKC in a game they led by 26 and Ty Jerome was +28 in 14 minutes while going 1-4 from the field. Basketball is a craaaaazy game. :dontknow:

Also in this game, quadruple double for Westbrook — 20 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers
