Re: Welcome Back, Daniel Theis!!!
How many picks are the Celtics getting by taking on Theis' overpriced salary???
Gave up Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom and Bruno Fernando. Salaries are about even, but yikes, Schro and Freedom are the two best players in the transaction. I'm not even sure that Theis is better than Fernando???

Re: Welcome Back, Daniel Theis!!!
Lol hahahaha I can't even right now. We trade him for mo and Kornet because he was to expensive and then we give up way more to get him back. Seems about right. Even though I like thies alot. I'm going to chalk this up to ainge screwing us over before leaving.

Ime is on the hotseat now. If he doesn't give Theis enough love I expect Brad will fire him and return to the bench next year to ensure the greatest screener in sports history gets the the full 40mins a night he deserves.

Re: Welcome Back, Daniel Theis!!!
Brad basically took back a horrible contract--$28 million for the next three seasons for a back-up in decline and is now all but untradeable unless we include draft picks.
Why didn't Brad get at least one no. 1 pick from Houston for taking on this horrendous contract? It is absurd.
So much for the great concern about the salary cap and delaying the onset of the repeater tax.
Keith Smith noted that Brad has a great reputation with the other GMs for not driving a hard bargain when he negotiates, unlike bad old Danny was reputed to always do.
This deal was certainly one Danny would have never made.
Brad is not officially on speed dial for every GM in the NBA when they want to make a deal.

Hauser says hi
One day Leon Powe and I were cracking up on Eddie House’s tattoo.…[Garnett] was like, ‘C’mon, Scal, it’s time to rock! What the ‘F’ are you doing?’ And I was like, ‘You know what? You’re right. It is time to rock.’ – Brian Scalabrine

Dave Cowens is the greatest screener in Sports History.

Re: Welcome Back, Daniel Theis!!!
I know it seems like we gave up too much for what the return was, but I really don’t think we lost anything that mattered. Theis was really underrated when he was here previously, and White is a very good young player. Quality>quantity

This trade doesn't involve star player so it's not going to get covered very much, but this is arguably one of the worst trades in Celtics history.

Re: Welcome Back, Daniel Theis!!!
I was happy when the Celtics got rid off Theis. Just too small against most bigs. He does create lanes for Tatum and Brown to drive to the basket though.

Yes, Theis has to play ~25 mins a game or Ime gone.
Good assessment:
PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Garnett, Pierce(although Paul needs to work, he's let himself go a bit since retiring) and Sam Hauser.

jumblin wrote:Schroeder was in demand by contending teams, you could have gotten a real nice piece back. To give up Schroeder, PLUS Kanter to get back a below-average rotation piece with a low-ceiling like Theis is a complete waste of the value Schroder had built.
Quite obviously this is untrue or else Brad would have done one of these imaginary deals.
and lol at "PLUS Kanter". Dude was immediately cut.
