Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Maybe by the time the draft roles around Emoni Bates will be a mid second rounder and everyone can get on board drafting the former next KD..

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
I like Eli N'Diaye as a potential draft and stash guy for next year.
Tell me that he doesn't at least kind of look like KD in some of these clips, like the play at 4:31 and 4:45 for example.
Crazy thing is, he's only 17 in these clips. But turns 19 next year so is eligible for 2023 draft.
6'8" now - might not be done growing..

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Keep him on the radar as a potential 2nd round pick next year..
High energy wing. 6'6" but plays much bigger than that. Can't find a wingspan or vertical but he's gotta have a near 7'0" wingspan and near 40" vertical.
Shot 36% from 3 last year and 45% from 3 during his senior year of HS.
Really good passer too. Very versatile defender.
Only weakness he has has been kind of turnover prone during his first 2 years at UCONN. Hopefully he can cut down on the turnovers this season as a junior. But if he does that than he might go 1st round and we won't get him lol
If Jackson makes a decent leap this season as a junior (he made a BIG leap from freshman to sophomore year) then he'll definitely go 1st round. And I doubt we trade into the 1st round..
But if he falls to the 2nd round, and he keeps developing, he could be a great fit for us as a swiss army knife, do a little bit of everything, high energy, high motor, high athleticism wing off the bench.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
we're obviously not going to get him, but this video of Victor Wembanyama is nuts:
Especially the play at the :09 mark, the skill level here is just ridiculous for an 18 yr old kid who is 7'3". Doesn't look as skinny anymore, either. Looks a little bigger, in both upper and lower body.
Oh yeah and the first play of the video. Pretty sure there's never been a dude that tall that's done a through the legs dunk before. That's just insane. You think about the guys we've seen do a through the legs dunk. Jordan, Kobe, JD Davison, Isaiah Rider, Vince Carter. Zion Williamson. Those guys are all 6'3 - 6'7". Then you have 7'3", 18 yr old Victor Wembanyama. Crazy

Just saw highlights of the French kid for the first time and the Jazz blowing it up makes so much sense now. Ainge is going for Victor and has picks out the wazoo to try and trade up if need be.

If we are talking strictly about who is the best prospect setting aside any durability issues I don't agree at all.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
interesting article about draft and stash players:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/markdeeks/2022/06/29/the-sacramento-kings-trading-for-sasha-vezenkov-was-not-a-token-gesture/?sh=4ca6b2bb4fdb
Pretty hilarious that the spurs still hold the draft rights to a 51 year old guy who retired several years ago

I think the same - I'd bet a lot of internet points he'd draft him first if it comes to that. I don't want to be accusatory but I do wonder about the age thing. If he's HS senior age he's a beast.

Are you questioning his age? First I've heard of this. I feel this would be very hard to fake having been born in the US, but I guess with enough money on the line anything is possible.

There's just been a couple of people on Twitter saying they think he might be older than what is listed - because a a pic was posted of him at an open run with his shirt off and he looks like he's about 25 lol and looks much more mature physically than the NBA player who as standing next to him (I forget who the NBA player was, I think it was like SGA or Garland or someone like that) and ome of the plays he made last season are nuts for a 17/18 yr old kid playing against pros.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
If Grant Williams was more skilled, more athletic and only 18:
Definitely a player worth keeping an eye on this season - he'll be a freshman at Ohio St - potential 2nd round sleeper..
Obviously not as good defensively as Grant but hey, he's only 18 (5 yrs younger than grant).. the upside is there..
Not sure but I'm just guessing Sensabaugh also played football in HS, lol
The game winner he hits at the end of that first video? Here's the full highlights of that game, it was lit! He hit the game winner against a team that had 1 player who's going to Florida and and another who's going to Kansas.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Short interview of the best GM in the business (starts at 3:09). Also Wembanyama to the Celtics confirmed

But seriously for a guy that the Celtics have no chance of getting, Stevens does spend a lot of time scouting him in person. Maybe Danny Ainge is secretly a Celtics double agent and engineered the Jazz rebuild to gift wrap the #1 pick to Boston

They also have Assemian Moulare on their team, who could be a 2nd round pick in 2023. But I don't see Brad drafting another small guard after Pritchard, Madar and Davison..
