Not gonna lie….Grant was my favorite personality on the team (although he did go overboard at times like jawing with Butler in ECF.). He is smart, funny, energetic and tough. I’m gonna miss him.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Getting two future 2nd round picks for Grant is very underwhelming.

Now I don’t have to qualify what Williams I am talking about. That took a lot of effort.

Seems like a genuinely good guy off the court. All his talking on it would get annoying at times, but still came off like a great guy who's just a chatterbox lol. Seemed like a good locker room guy, and being able to make fun of himself and be the target of everyone's jokes made him endearing.

I think he can be a Boris Diaw type offensive player on a bad team, but on a good team he'll have to embrace just being a shooter with low usage. I think our switching left him in a lot of matchups that made him look worse individually on D but he held his own usually in a way where it helped the overall team in the options they had.

I'll miss him and wish we would have just paid the tax, but I get it. Hope he does well in DAL.

We’ll all look back and laugh about this when Grant is our head coach in 2036.

It's actually 3 2nd rounders and a $7 mil TPE.

It's better than losing him for nothing if he just signed with a different team.

Can't wait for a team that doesn't box out and is 100% stationary on defense.

Don't agree with this move. He was the, along with Smart, the only toughness on this team. I liked him getting in Butler's face and the team should've had his back on that. That was a good thing he did. Just a shame no one else backed him up.

And speculation about trying to get Lilliard here is dumb. We need another ball dominant shooter like we need a hole in the head. I think we're good on offense right now. It'd be good to have a distributor, a real one, and some toughness on defense. Or perhaps just some defense. But that's coaching so I don't hold out too much hope for that.

The definition of a solid player. I think he'll be worth the contract, but I'll hold off on judging the decision to match until I see how the team performs with KP and a lower cost replacement in Grant's role.

Brad & coach Joe have acted all offseason as if they were very ready to move on from Grant, maybe it is only the contract demands maybe his very outspoken personality had worn annoying but Grant was a very VERY good utility role player, he cannot rebound at a high level or get his own shot but could absolutely do everything else while knocking it down at 40% from 3...

I think Brad will start the season with a bench of Brogdon Horford Banton Brissett PP and Houser ...see if oshae and or Banton unlock further as they fill perfect roles for their skillsets.

Barring a Brogdon move, or a possible JB stunner I believe Brad is done for a while !

Thats only 11 roster spots, depending if you count JD and Walsh. He still has the tax payer mid but I have to wonder if he’ll even use it.

This is another sad one for me, Grant played hard and played fearless. He didn't let his cold streak to start his career deter him from turning into a really good spot up 3pt shooter and while he might not have excelled vs really fast or really tall players defensively he was competent enough against any to be extremely switchable. He's the kind of role player that could land anywhere and be valuable.

Good player. But was at best the 9th best player on this team. And with Rob, KP and Al (Plus tatum who can play the 4) it didn't really make sense to pay $13 mil or more for a guy who's your 9th best player and 4th best big.

Wish him the best of luck!

We were up by 9 in the 4th quarter when Grant did that. It was a dumb move. He poked the bear - he got Butler all fired up, and then Butler proceeded to turn into prime MJ, torching us for the rest of the game - we lost that game and went on to lose the series.

YEah, of all the things that's what did it. Losing 3 in a row and showing up sorry for game 7. I could go on but I think the point is made. You want your team to show some damn toughness, some meanness, some guts. And the Celtics, minus Grant, ....

And just like that, the Romeo/Grant/Carsen draft haul of 2019 is gone. I was hoping for more banners. But Grant was the one who outperformed his draft position. Had no clue who he was when they picked him. Grew to like almost everything about him. Wish they could’ve kept him, and $13M for 4 seems like a good value for his potential going forward.

Alas. Once Brissette was brought in to be budget Grant, the writing that was already on the wall went from marker to etchings.

Go get ‘em, Grant. You gonna make both.

That's now all personality gone from this team.
