I’d like to see this team gear up for the playoffs. Less chucking of 3’s, and mixing it up and taking advantage of our size and athleticism. Go at mismatches. Post up Lillard and ahoot mid ranges, and attack the basket. SAS is right, we are beatable if we fall in love too much for the 3 ball.

D-White and Jrue gotta abuse Lillard defensively and offensively.

Jrue has already done it back in the postseason 4-5 years I believe?
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

I want to be up by 20 in the first half by playing insode out.

Then I want the 2nd half to open up with inside play and 3 pointers resulting in a 40 point win.

We average 42.6 3PA/g for the season but 41.5 3PA/g in our losses. In 9 of our 14 losses we shot fewer than our season average for 3 PA.
Don't worry about what SAS says. He doesn't look at any data. He probably doesn't even watch any games.

FWIW,
When Celtics take less than 44% of their shots from 3: 14-9 (60.87%)
When Celtics take at least 44% of their shots from 3: 40-5 (88.89%)

No other team in the NBA takes 44%+ of their shots from 3 as season average lol.

The counter point to this is, running the Celtics off the 3 point line and making them shoot less 3’s is more effective.

That seems to be the case. Even listening to opposing team huddles (Spo, Malone, and Vogel all mentioned this at least once), they know what the Cs are about. Smart defenses (with capable individual defenders) stay home on the shooters for the most part. When teams double/trap Tatum, that's when we're deadlier cos the ball moves freely. Bait Cs into stagnant iso mismatch game, and they have a chance.

We did score 143 on the Heat with only 40 3PA so that strategy isn't bulletproof.

Nobody is claiming it is. Celtics are a good team no matter what the opponent throws at them, but it still seems to show that forcing the Celtics off the three point line gives you the best chance to beat them. If the Celtics are above their average number of 3’s taken per game, that means their offense is generating clean looks for the shooters, the defense is failing to rotate or Sam Hauser turns into Steph curry

No strategy is against the Celtics this season. Should've said "higher chance".

Yeah I wasn't nitpicking so much as making a dig at Spo.

Then if Hauser's out, this evens things up.

Always believed in his pullup shot. Whatever you find in the archives that says otherwise is a blatant fabrication.

With Giannis out, Mazzulla's gonna have to change his defensive game plan to focus on Bobby Portis.

Giannis is out so if Brown is questionable, rest him. With a 10 game lead, don't let Milwaukee feel good and win a game with the Celtics healthy. Same with the last game in Milwaukee
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

Seriously, I always thought the Celtics needed a Portis type player then Brad Stevens went out and got Tillman. I'm happy.
