It's also not clear if he actually gets along with the current team. The Jays might rather play with someone else.

Hayward doesn't seem like he'd take a Reserve (3rd Unit) role.
Other than that, Hasta la Bye Bye.

Indiana. That's where his wife wants to live. It's in the admittedly large group of teams that has a positional fit for him. Further, as a ball-movement team, it could be a stylistic fit as well.

he'd be taking Svi's spot and role, and I'm sorry to say that I think he's too washed up for even that.
And I'd rather use Svi's spot on Queta or Davison, honestly. Someone with upside.

LOL when was the last time he was healthy ???? U don’t follow basketball do u ? Hornets traded him for a reason. He will be your fav bench player but he won’t play, due to injuries basically making money off being sideline. Coach of the year didn’t give him any mins vs Dallas u think Joe will ?

Our core is set, and I think we have a very good chance to win our 18th banner, but we don't have much to spend this offseason for someone beyond those already in our team. Hayward is someone who has earned a lot in his career already and would prioritize playing time + winning. I really liked him as a player and I think he can be a key 6th man for a championship team.

What do you guys think?

No, the dude sucks. We don’t want hayword

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

I think the Celtics/Hayward ship has sailed. There are better avenues for Brad to tweak and improve this team.

I don't fault him for "complaining" though. OKC just lost to Dallas in a very fun and exciting series, yet I didn't even remember Hayward was on the team. He played a couple garbage minutes I think.

If he thinks he still has something left in the tank, he'll probably get a chance somewhere.

Yes - that's exactly why I said "another" sign he'd be bad in the locker room. But otherwise , if he had anything left, he'd be a perfect fit as a ball handler, ball mover, shooter, I always loved his game. Stats wise his numbers in Charlotte only show slow decline with age, better teammates, and decreased usage - is there any evidence beyond the OKC stint to show he's washed? I remember another guy who looked washed in OKC, that Reunion has gone ok!

Excellent point at the end. Let's get Al a ring this season to shut up the few remaining who complained about his first tenure in Boston and haven't apologized. Then next season we get Hayward a ring or instead of a ring let's get him a ceremonial ankle bracelet for the lolz.

He's whining about his role on the Thunder so I don't know why we want him whining about his role here. He's been dissatisfied at every stop in his NBA career. Just retire and go complain to your wife bro.

I'd love him back from an emotional stand point. I had a soft spot for him.

Do not like him as a person though I think, and it's pretty clear the Jays did not either.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

I loved the idea of his game in a Cs uniform, but I'd rather have Mook back at this point.

Spoiler:
I want neither. But if we had to have one, I'd take Mook.

Ehhh there is no harm in kicking the tires on the guy and see where his mind is at for accepting the role we would give him. I doubt he’d go for it though.

I was watching the hug with Morris at the end of the Cavs series. I like that Morris can provide value. But he wasn't happy with his role in Cleveland and he's not shy about complaining

It's a shame how Gordon panned out in green. I remember being really excited when we signed him, but although he is still an NBA quality player there's no justification to think he is even close to the rigours of an NBA season. Whether he is soft in recovering from injuries, unlucky or simply easily hurt, you just can't count on him to be healthy and give you stability in the lineup. He's done.

On re-think, we should definitely sign him. Have him, Hauser, Al and Tillman all on-court together to throw the opposition off about which Al and which Hauser they are meant to guard.

Imagine the defensive breakdowns it would cause!
