Only half joking..

He's 6'8" 220, that's not skinny.

Perhaps poor choice of words by me.I meant a more physically strong muscle tone like brown and tatum have developed.

NBA Free Agency 2024 Deadline: What day does NBA free agency ends and more key dates for the NBA offseason

https://www.marca.com/en/basketball/nba/2024/06/30/668151f4e2704ebaae8b45ca.html
By June 29, teams and players must decide on contract options, as it is the last day to exercise these options. Additionally, it is the final day for teams to extend qualifying offers to players, making them restricted free agents.

June 30 marks the beginning of free agent negotiations. Starting at 18:00 ET, teams can officially start discussions with players from other teams.

The next day, July 1, the free agency moratorium begins at 12:01 a.m. ET. During this period, first-round draft picks can sign contracts, players can sign minimum contracts (two years or less), teams can extend offer sheets to restricted free agents, third- and fourth-year rookie options can be exercised, and two-way contracts can be signed and converted.

On July 6, free agency officially kicks off at noon ET. Teams can sign free agents, trades become official, and both rookie-scale and veteran contracts can be extended. The clock on offer sheets for restricted free agents also begins on this day.

Training camps begin on September 27 for teams playing outside North America, while all other teams start their training camps on October 1. By October 19, teams must waive any players on non-guaranteed contracts to avoid a salary cap charge.

October 21 is a significant date as it marks the end of the offseason. It is the last day to sign rookie scale or veteran extensions if more than one season is left on the contract.

Imagine how a team could dominate this chart if they only signed minimum salary players! They'd win this chart every year, a greater dynasty than Bill Russell.

Well, at this point, not sure Tillman is coming back. If he is not signed today or tomorrow, I doubt he will be back. Svi and Brissett are gone, and Davison probably too. So, this is how I see it now:

starters:
White, Holiday, Brown, Tatum, Porzingis
(all signed for at least 4 years including this one, except Porzingis, who has 2 years left and should be extended next summer)

Main rotation players:
Pritchard, Hauser, Horford (Horford will start until Porzingis is back)
Pritchard is signed for 4 more years, hopefully Hauser will get an extension done after July 9th, I feel Horford will have a 10 mil a year contract waiting for him as long as he wants to play)

Stay ready group:
Springer (1 year plus qualifying offer year), Walsh (3 years left on rookie contract), Kornet (this year only), Queta (this year and next), Scheierman (starting rookie contract). That's 13 players under contract. We still need a player of size and strength to fill the backup PF spot not names Horford. At least 1 more will need to be signed, possibly Tillman, or another point guard, or one of the guys looking at the 2-way deals.

Possible 2-way players:
Peterson (6'9/205 24 years old), Watson (6'8/230 23 years old), Enaruna (6'8/230 23 years old)
I doubt all of these guys of similar size will be on 2-ways contracts. Brad may need to get someone to play point guard on a 2-way for continuity.

It's obviously much better if we can sign the X-man but if not I am weirdly excited about Queta getting a lot of burn with KP out and Horf being managed.

Agree. Queta has some upside for sure.

Size, strength, toughness, physicality, motor. He can rebound, block shots. Set screens, decent as a roll man..good lob catcher.

He was solid pretty much anytime he was in there for meaningful mins last year. And will likely take somewhat of a leap in year 2 with the team, year 4 in the league at age 25 (was 24 last year).

He also got signed very late in the offseason for us last year. So this time around he gets to go to all of our offseason workouts and stuff to really be ready to roll for training camp.

Expecting good things from him in 24-25.. and I'm sure Brad is as well..hence, the multi-year contract.

I would think Svi will either sign with a different team or go sign with a team overseas (there were rumors that he was close to signing with a EuroLeague team last year before he signed with BOS).

Brissett is looking for a team that can offer more playing time. I'm thinking that team could be Milwaukee, maybe Washington, Charlotte or Utah. Or perhaps he will resign with BOS if he can't find another team that can offer more playing time/more $/longer contract length..

He's got solid low post footwork and a little floater game too. Will be interesting how he interacts with starters more this year as he is very assertive and persistent in carving out territory in low post and calling for the ball.

I still would feel much better if they also sign Tillman, but, I have to imagine Queta gets a regular role in the regular season. Tillman has a solid runway to get minutes every night too with Porzingis out early and likely to start resting Horford more when he returns.

We can go with 15 players now, and make a 2-for-1 Trade later on.

I'm sure that we want to be down to 14 players, by the Trade Deadline?

As pertains our three 2way roster spots. Seems certain one will go to Anton Watson. It seems JD Davison can have one if he wants one. And then there’s not been a word so far if the team wants to bring back Drew Peterson, who is a good bit older, back on a 2way.

I’m monitoring the Indiana Pacers because they just made three 2nd round picks and last year they had Oscar Tshiebwe on a two way and he was the most dominant rebounder in the G last year. So that’s four prospects that they probably want to keep in their G league system but they are limited to three 2way contracts. I’m keeping an eye on Indiana and who they let go, if anyone.

They have:
Johnny Furphy
Enrique Freeman
Tristen Newton
Oscar Tshiebwe

If they don’t roster anyone on the big club, one will not get a 2way and I’d be intrigued by any of them for one of our remaining 2ways.

Good call on a team to watch their moves and swoop in. I’m about 30 minutes from their new G-league facility so definitely will be checking out some games this year. This did really well imo with some interesting prospects, especially considering no 1st rounders.

Furphy was picked higher than Jordan Walsh, whom the C's gave a regular contract to despite having been a teenager.
