And you got your answer.

They needed Brown against the Warriors.

Still, a fine performance by Queta, but diminished by some awfulness of Al and Holiday was nigh useless and shaky.

More minutes for Hauser, back to Portland for Walsh, and go with a
Queta - Tatum - Hauser - White - Holiday starting unit. I might also switch out
Holiday for PP, if Jrue continues to offer diminished returns.

Aside from Draymond I find no reason to hate the Dubs, despite the Olympics and Tatum I still like Steve Kerr (I really admire his passion and stance on gun control)

But man, so many of their supporters are unbeatable and so arrogant, like Miami fans when they were good.

Celtics are one of two teams with an above .500 record against the Warriors dynasty. Last year’s blowout win doesn’t count but this one does? Eat a snickers dude

I like that idea.
Queta needs the time.

He's got to be Coached. not to go for all the bogus stuff.

That and more work with his jump hook. But love his energy and overall best defense amongst our centers. and while he is no Rob Williams as a vertical spacer, he is still very good at it.

It’s downright embarrassing how this team fizzles out against golden state. Listen they could have needed brown tonight but i am so sick of golden state. They have two aging superstars and we can’t handle them?

Pulling Queta for Al and closing with Al still on the court with Queta was dumb.

This is not the team to play 2 bigs on

The Good:
-Queta is a two-way impact player and electric at times. Pulling him in the 4th killed our momentum.
-Tatum was in MVP form at times. He attacked the rim really well.
-White is an all star and proving to be one of the best two-way players in the game.

The Bad:
-Horford was horrific on both ends. Can't really blame him because he's playing more than he would if Mr. Glass was healthy.
-Jrue. Looked slow and lazy. A bit exposed when his role has to expand with injuries.
-Mazzulla. Over-playing Al instead of going small against the Warriors was pretty

Has to be said, the refs were horrific all game. Had several game-changing calls. That tech on Tatum was horseshiiiit.

Some games Al doesn’t play in the 4th quarter if he’s having a rough game. Not sure why he was out there late tonight.

Tatum only 4 rebounds needs to be better. Averaged 9 last year and so far the numbers are down in that department.

As annoying as this game was and I hate seeing the celts lose to these clowns treating the game like their championships but they played a great game while only 3 Celtics players showed up and missing our 2nd and 3rd best player. Any team missing their 2nd and 3rd option would struggle against any good team. Nothing to be concerned about, we just lack depth if both 2 of our top guys are out in the regular season with starters looking like they have a consistent minutes rotation, not going above for certain matchups. Also, **** the refs on that unsuccessful challenge it doesn’t get any more obvious than that call

People looked at this one as a revenge game for Tatum (and brown if healthy) but I think it was the Warriors who were really out for revenge after the shellacking they got in Boston last year.

Gotta give it to the Warriors. They're Grandpa's, but they beat us. They don't take us lightly.
We need to return the favor. Plan for them (and every team) like they planned for us.

Credit to Buddy Heild lol man has been a sniper this season and fits really well with the warriors. The young guys on their team have gotten more experience now so they’re good. I knew late game execution against curry was gonna be a problem, both Al and Queta are just too slow to guard him in a switch and they just spammed that every play down the stretch and the warriors made every big play on offense.

Celtics were in a tough situation going Against a 6-1 Warrior Team sporting a +17 Differential without Jaylen Brown or Porzingis. Deck was stacked before tipoff. Who could bring an A game on Demand? Bottom Line Summary: Tatum and Derrick White delivered. So Did Neemias Queta. Al was Al, considering he's 38. What you'd expect. Holiday, Pritchard AND Kornet had sub-par games. Without Jaylen or Zinger, the Celtics couldn't afford sub-par games from Holiday, Pritch & Kornet unless Hauser was on fire. But since Hauser only took 5 shots in 22 minutes (in spite of a shot to the face), well, even though he was 2-5 from 3 he couldn't be on fire.

An Alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+22 Jayson Tatum 37 minutes
+21 Derrick White 36 minutes

+15 Neemias Queta 28 minutes
+14 Al Horford 30 minutes

+9.5 Jrue Holiday 32 minutes
+8.5 Payton Pritchard 32 minutes
+8 Sam Hauser 22 minutes
+4.5 Luke Kornet 14 minutes
+2 Jordan Walsh 8 minutes

Team Total = 104.5

Warriors feel like a team full of gimmicks without top-end talent. Can't see them getting out of R1.
