I'm not voting any of them onto the All Star Team. I want a chip on their shoulders. We definitely repeat if our starters get snuffed.

Now that the format has changed I'm not sure I understand how it works with the all star starters. The voting is going on like usual, with the 10 leading vote getters becoming starters. But the format has changed and now there's 3 Allstar teams of 8 players each (I think), and then a 4th team of rising stars.

So if there's 3 Allstars teams don't we need 15 starters? And who starts on each team? Etc.

Nothing's changed with voting format and starters/bench selection. There will still be "five starters for the West" and "five starters for the East."

After the 24 All-Stars are selected by fan votes/media/players (starters) and coaches (bench), the TNT guys will draft them into three teams of 8.

I'm following that, but in the end they will need 15 starters for 3 teams, and the voting process will only produce 10 of them. So some other guys will just become starters arbitrarily I guess?

Maybe the teams decide by themselves? (I don't think it matters at that point.)

Banchero has played in 6 games all season and has missed over 30, and he's going to get voted in as a starter.

I hope none of our players will actually play in these ridicules games
We need the rest
Maybe get all the team to the All-Star and get real practices. It will help more in the long run than playing in this circus

Players want to be named All-Stars so bad but don't really want to take the games seriously. Just a different breed of players since maybe the 2010s -- post Kobe/Dirk/KG generation.

It is a contest of popularity and money
Not who are the best basketball players in the world or pride

It is a business that we fans think is something different from the old ages (our tribe against another tribe etc)

Yeah. Play hard or don't play.

The NFL finally abolished the Pro Bowl game due to wide agreement that the players SHOULDN'T play hard (because of the injury profile of football).

EC players who deserve serious consideration, IMO, are:

From bad teams
Ball
Nobody from the Sixers, because of injury

From mediocre teams
Trae
Cade
Giannis
Dame
Nobody from the Heat

From good teams
Nobody from the Magic, because of injury
Brunson
Towns
Many Celtics
Many Cavs

Who, if anybody, am I unjustly snubbing?

I have faith
Just hate this circus
Better see the Harlem Globetrotters

Maybe add a game against the G-League all stars
A contest of cheerleaders
Water boy races
Spill beer on the court and check which teams' personnel can clean it faster

Make it a real circus

The weekend is a status/ego validation hangout for the league's stars
They don't go very hard in the ASG and I'm okay with that

I've seen some good ASGs but I don't need to/expect to -- though I think this year's format might be interesting so I'll likely pay more attention than usual

I think an NBA All Star/Big 3 mashup tourney could also be interesting -- but honestly you don't want a situation where someone's going to go hard against the All Stars and increase the wear/tear/injury risk, right?

Even just a 3v3 of nba all stars might be interesting. Sanction the event so we can get them in the Olympics while you’re at it.

Siakam and Haliburton are looking like guys that should get consideration , Hero is probably borderline.
