Cs filled a need and fans still aren’t happy. Can’t please everybody.

This is why Brad should’ve just traded for Giannis. But then again, we will complain that Giannis can’t shoot and is a liability in close games.

Depth, defense, can hit the three, playoff experienced. Good signing.

It will be a pleasant surprise if he ends up being better than Sam.

I don't think anyone is expecting that to happen.

He's here to be Hauser's backup..be a deep bench wing..give us some mins here and there when another wing 3/4 type guy is needed for some added depth..and if Hauser is sitting out here and there to rest his back..

Plus, he could provide some veteran leadership. Give some guidance to some of younger guys - especially our younger wings like Scheierman, Walsh, Peterson.

Our top 9 guys are set in stone. If things break right for Craig, he could end up being a solid 10th man.

Yeah, that's why I'm not expecting much.

Sam is a specialist.
Besides shooting, very limited in other areas.

If Craig can score on drives to the basket and make open 3s then he might end up ahead of Sam on the playoff depth chart.

Craig is 34 years old. Coming off an injury, has barely played this season. At this point in his career, he is very limited in terms of driving to the basket.

You seem to be underrating Hauser a bit. We gave Hauser a $45 mil contract extension for a reason. He was our 7th/8th man last season when we won the title. A guy who was a key rotation player for your championship team, who you just gave a $45 mil contract extension to, is entering his prime - does not get passed on the depth chart by some 34 year old, injured buyout signing who just got waived.

We didn't pay Hauser all of that money because he's just some "shooting specialist who is very limited in other areas".

A shooting specialist who's very limited in other areas is Garrison Mathews, who bounces around from team to team on minimum contracts.

Hauser is arguably the most underrated defender in the league. Time after time, guys think they can hunt him on switches and time after time he locks them up. He's not just a shooter, he's an ELITE shooter. He's got tremendously high basketball IQ, processing and feel for the game. He's always in the right spots on both ends of the floor, pretty much never makes a mistake. Good rebounder for his position. Has shown some improvement this season in terms of attacking off the dribble - including preseason. And was showing more of that before the back injury..is now showing signs of getting back in rhythm and being healthy again so I'm sure we'll see more of that dribble drive development..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'd have rather had Brissett, but that may just be because I am familiar with him and liked his fit, and I frankly know nearly nothing about Craig.

I'm referring to Sam's offense.

His defense and rebounding is good enough.

I'm a fan of Sam.
So you're preaching to the choir.

It's when the Cs are on a fast break and Sam gets the ball only to pull out of the break because he can't finish at the rim.

Or when a defender runs past Sam at the 3pt line and Sam can't drive to the basket and dunk the ball.

So yeah, Sam is limited on offense.

GREAT pickup!

His bench-sitting and towel-waving skills will be critical come the playoffs.

Similar sorts of players, but Craig has a way better jump shot. And older and possibly hurt, but give him a chance and you might be pleasantly surprised (I say this as someone who wanted Brissy back).

There's also a possibility that Brissett might not have wanted to come back (for reasons only known to him). He turned down a player option after all.

The only downside to Brad acting quickly is CsRGM has even less to talk about. But looking forward to the "should've signed Lonnie Walker instead" posts whenever Craig misses a shot in garbage time.

I can try to be insufferable about Reggie Jackson. Do you think that’ll help?

Inconceivable!

No, I agree. It would take some pride swallowing to come back now.

No more insufferable than my attempts at preempting insufferability from other posters. I think Lonnie Walker will go down as the most talked-about non-Celtic (making training camp doesn't count) in RGM history.

Eh, I don't know about that. Dude already did some massive pride swallowing. He's in the freaking g-league. Coming back to the Celtics would have been a massive step up.

Any other team sure, but facing your boys after you opted out and couldn’t find another gig is tough.

It probably wasn’t the right phrase, I was mainly trying to agree with cg that he could have his own reasons for not wanting to come back. That was just one example a random on a message board can guess at, but more likely there are plenty of other ones. Or he wasn’t made an offer. Who knows?

That one Durant guy got some words spilled over him too, iirc. What’s he up to now anyways? Hope he’s in a good place and enjoying his teammates.

Maybe he wants to actually play instead of just getting minutes in garbage time. C's can't offer that.

I would've been fine with Josh Richardson too but maybe he has other plans after he gets waived by Utah.

dude seems aight. not sure what people were expecting for a waiver pickup but a 6-7 swing who defends and shoots 40% from 3 seems about all that could be hoped for. he's instantly above walsh and peterson on the depth chart and miles better than springer. not above hauser of course but not sure why anyone would expect that off waivers.

welcome mr. thee stallion.
