With Al, KP, Luke and Neems he would be playing in Maine. When KP was out Neems best month was Nov - 21mpg/7pts and 5reb. I doubt Joe and the staff had plans to integrate a rookie big into that role. Bad teams and injuries give young guys lots of opportunities to play.
DA obviously wanted him enough that he gave him a very good contract for a 2nd rd pick.
Maybe, But that would lead me into another rant. But for the sake of argument, Flip even one year in Maine >> anyone else we could have had and definitely over Scheierman long term.
Edit - If KF was given a real chance. He could/would have beaten out either of Kornet and Neems, and Al and KP missing so much time, he could have developed.
