He's not overpaid. He just underperforms. Trick or treat.

Regardless of past accomplishments, the player isn’t a Top 15 player in this League
Overpay big time
Brown and the entire Team must notably the Coach embarrassed themselves this postseason
If I’m Management or Ownership, I’m putting out trade feelers see what’s out there

Tatum shot 30% in the Knicks series the first 3 games and the Celtics were down 1-2. Celtics were down 1-3 to the Knicks when Tatum got hurt. Trick or Treat? Underperform?

Yes, Brown is a trick or treat player. He makes a spectacular, athletic play, then on the next trip he bricks a jumper or dribbles the ball off his foot. He makes a great defensive play, then next time down the floor he gets backdoored or forgets to close out on a shooter because he's thinking about his footwear brand instead of the game.

If you want to play this game you can say the same thing about Tatum. Makes a bad play on offense so he sits there and argues with the ref while the other team is 5 on 4 on offense, makes a nice defensive play then totally loses his man the next play for a three pointer, comes down on offense and bricks step back 3 after step back 3 because he is "the man". Trick or Treat.
Unfortunately, this is the truth. This is an easy game that anyone can play.

That's just one angle.
Let's not forget Tatum's production.
Consistently leads the team in points per game, rebounds per game, and assists per game.
Tatum also has 3 straight 1st team all-nba selections and will get his 4th 1st team selection this month.
So there's a significant difference between Tatum and Brown when it comes to production and achievements.
Also, we've already seen Tatum having the ability to carry the team in the playoffs.
Just like Game 6 against the Bucks in 2022 and Games 6 and 7 against Philly in 2023.
And when the Cs won the chip last season, JT was in elite company when he led the Cs in ppg, rpg, and apg in the postseason.
It's really apples and oranges.

It's apples and oranges because you are a fanboy. Overlook Tatum's flaws and concentrate solely on Brown's flaws. Because of that it's hard to have any kind of a rational discussion about Tatum with you.

Not really.
1st team all-nba selections are no joke.
Paul Pierce never made 1st team all-nba his whole career.
Debating will lead to subjective arguments, but based on production and accolades, the verdict is clear.

Tatum lead the Celtics in turnovers this year. Tatum lead the Celtics in games with 5 turnovers or more this year but it's Jaylen Brown that can't handle the ball? Facts. People overlook what they want to overlook. People concentrate on what they want to concentrate on.

No doubt JT still has too many turnovers.
But a lot of those turnovers were from bad passes and losing the ball.
JB's turnovers are mostly from stupidity.
My high school coach told me that if you see 2 defenders in front of you, don't try to dribble through them.
JB just doesn't have a feel for the game.
He's in year 9 of his NBA career and he still makes rookie mistakes.
But JB's talent and athletic ability are elite.
Only 1 all-nba team selection in 9 years in the NBA?
That tells you JT and JB are not on the same level.

See that’s what Tatum fanboys do, defend Tatum by trying to make Brown look worse. Fanboys 101.
You can make a strong case Celtics lost the series to the Knicks because of Tatum’s selfishness.
Game 1: Tatum had to be the hero so he kept chucking three pointers going something like 0-7 in the 4th quarter and overtime.
Game 2: Tatum again had to be a hero on the final possession and didn’t move the ball, put himself in a bad spot then turned the ball over.
Game 4: Tatum was looking for a 50 point game for his legacy. When he got hurt, Celtics were down 9 points with 3 minutes left in the game. Celtics down 1-3.
If Jaylen Brown did those things there would be a 100 page topic running him out of town. Tatum does it, no big deal.
Like I said, people see what they want and don’t want to see then use Jaylen Brown to try to deflect any criticism of Jayson Tatum

No doubt, IMO, JT lost the series to NY because of the bad decisions by JT in Games 1 and 2.
It has to do with the magnitude of the mistakes when it comes to JB.
As early as high school, players are already taught to pass the ball if 2 defenders are guarding you.
Over-dribbling should also be avoided.
Don't jump in the air to shoot then suddenly change your mind because you thought you were open.
Some of the blunders of JB are just basketball 101 mistakes that a 9-year vet should not be making.
And I checked the replay, from my League Pass, JT passed the ball to JB when JB was curling to the FT line and JB just lost the ball.
JT then dove for the ball and ended up tearing his achilles.
Not saying JB is to blame because it was really an accident, but if JB didn't lose the ball I don't think JT would have gotten hurt.

Tatum does bonehead things too, but fewer of them. Why have two guys like that on the same roster?
At least I trust Tatum to make his free throws at the end of a close game.

Re: How overpaid is JB?
Brown isn’t overpaid, but he just might not be the best “fit” long term next to Tatum.
Watching someone like Nesmith last night made me think he is someone perfect next to Tatum. 40% from 3. Makes his free throws. Plays great aggressive defense and makes a pittance compared to Brown.
If we are gonna keep Joe, we need to fill our team with more high productive role players that might not be as talented as Brown, but make us into a better rounded team.

Never understand this argument. The Tatum/Brown "fit" has produced 5 ECF appearances, 2 NBA Finals appearances, 1 NBA Championship in 8 years. Seems like a good "fit" to me.

Old CBA it isn’t a bad fit. Under the new one? It’s hard to build a balanced team when you have two guys who do a lot of the same things making 60 million. Bad financial fit might be a better choice if words.
