⋅ Austin Ainge’s departure is a significant loss for the front office. But vice president of basketball operations Mike Zarren said the timing of Ainge’s departure ensured that the team’s draft preparations would not be hindered.
“It’s strange not having him in the office, but I would say I don’t think it significantly affects our draft prep, because we already have his opinions on all of the players,” Zarren said. “Having said that, we all miss having him here.”

Re: Austin Ainge Appreciation Thread
You look at the 2024 title team and since then the organization has lost Charles Lee, Jeff Van Gundy, Austin Ainge, Remy Cofield ... Some guys got promotions and you can't blame them for leaving... However, that's a lot of talent drain. Seems like we haven't really hired any high level replacement personnel either.
Probably the new owners will take a year or two or three to get their feet under them and then probably we'll start seeing a lot of new people coming in

Keeping one of Charles Lee, Sam Cassell and Jeff van Gundy this long is the most we could have reasonably hoped for.
I agree with you more about the personnel guys.

So, is this the guy who's responsible for all our draft picks, the hits and misses?

Re: Austin Ainge Appreciation Thread
Honestly do we all forget how much Austin Ainge was hated prior to danny leaving? Not a major loss imo. As long as we have Brad and Zarren we are good.
