I feel the loss of Tatum, kp,holiday, horford and Kornet will be felt the most.
With Tatum out every one moves up the pecking order
Jb 1
Simon's 2?
White 3
Pritchard 4
Anything over 30 Joe is coach of the year

I say we go 43-39.

I think we can win a few more based on how well Queta and Simons play. If Queta has a strong year, much better than expected and Simons adjusts to a new team and adjusts to coming off the bench and has a strong season, then we can win more. And if one of Minott and Hugo play better than expected, then we can win 48 or more games, if everyone stays healthy.

44-46. The team has enough firepower, talent and experience in the top players to get a low playoff seed. And I think Brad and Joe are serious about staying relevant. And JT probably back in the last two months.

Basically the team is good enough to have a winning record if they stay focused and competitive. I could see a few things like injury that would derail the team, but if the team stays fairly healthy they should be able to stay ahead of Wizards, Nets, Hornets, Bulls, Pacers, and competing with Raptors, 76ers, Heat for those playoff positions.

I'm sticking with my 36-38 wins. I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised. I'm not expecting the Celtics frontcourt to be good on defense and rebounding (we have already seen the Celtics with rebounding issues in the preseason). Once Brown and/or White go down with injuries, even for a little while the losses will start piling up. Simons is not a winning player and will be moved at midseason. I DON'T BELIEVE TATUM WILL PLAY THIS YEAR.

Ready to be pleasantly surprised, but I see a 36-38 win team.

I'm thinking:

1) Jaylen
2) White
3) Pritchard/Simons

I expect Simons to come off the Bench.

38 or 39. I think we'll be fun to watch, but I think our centers are gonna get wrecked (particularly Garza, who is atrocious on D,) and that we will really struggle when either of White or PP is out (missing games,) lacking any other competent ball handlers. Still should be fun. Hoping our new style creates some chaos, and the new style is probably tailor made for Minott and Hugo.

If two of Hugo, Minott, Walsh and Scheierman come out of this season as meaningful rotation players moving forward then this season will be a giant success.

Totally agree, and I'm not having much hope for Walsh or Scheierman anymore. Hate to say that, but it's true. I'm buying Hugo and Minott stock, though.

I am more optimistic. I have the Celtics pegged for 34 wins.

Before opening night I thought 42. After opening night seeing lack of protection and a really bad passing team?

36.

This is more likely than 46.

I think O/U should be 36.

They will win enough games to knock themselves out of the lottery and no playoffs.

That's not possible.
Either they are in the Playoffs, or they are in the Lottery.

I don’t think fans understand how bad this season is going to be. We played pretty well ladt night against a bad team and still lost. White is our only good defensive player and we were unable to stop their guards all night long. Our front court is woefully thin and our bench stinks. Brown is hurt snd tatum is out and oh yeah our coach has yet to figure out how to keep a lead in the 4th qtr. there is no reason to be optimstic about this team

Philly is not that bad of a team. Going into the season I picked Philly as the 7 seed in the East and Boston as the 8 seed.

We lost to them by 1 point but they shot like 45% from 3 and we shot like 25% from 3 so with better shooting luck we win the game.

So I'm not stressing much from that game.

I had us going 41-41 (give or take a few games) coming into the season and that has changed at all from last night's game..

Also, it's a league wide thing that over the past few years we're seeing more comebacks than ever before in the NBA..no lead is safe these days..it's not just a Mazzulla thing:

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39698420/no-lead-safe-nba-big-comebacks-blown-leads
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I said 36-38 wins all along and I'm sticking to it. This Celtics team this year is paper thin. Any injury will be a big problem. Just look at currently with Garza out, now the Celtics have Queta, Tillman and Boucher. That's it and we are only 1 game into the season. If Brown or White go down for an extended period, the Celtics are a lottery team.
