I see GSW being a good situation. They have Patrick O'Bryan not getting burn, who is a local MN kid at a position of need. Exchange them for each other and wish them luck.

I would take him back in a heartbeat, the kid can score, i would much rather have him then 2nd round pick the problem is we dont have the minutes to really develop him, but by all accounts he was a hard worker, and he is still really young, I would love to have him back but i think he knows he wouldnt get too much PT here either iwiht james posey in front of him

Probabley McHale told GG's agent to say this in hopes of getting a 2nd round pick for him. Probabley figure they will at least have a shot at a pick before they just let him walk this summer.
Yup - if he's lucky to still be playing into his fifth season with the TWolves.....oh wait....I have the wrong guy.....I'm talking about Chauncey Billups in 00/01 on his way to a career high 42% from the field after shooting 33% the year before. What am I trying to say?
I'm not trying to say Green will be the next Chauncey Billups, but where exactly was his career at that point. Bad team or not Green had enough talent to make people notice. While he looked awkward he was starting to draw fouls on his drives.
I don't know where Green is going, but if I'm the Clippers, I send out that 2nd round pick out there fast, have Dunleavy give him 20-25 minutes and have him say "we want to see what you can do - I want you shooting."
In terms of "DEMANDING" a trade, I think it is more like his agent is saying. If Minnesota with the worst record in the NBA is looking at other young talent at his position and would not pick up his option, why waste everybody's time in Minnesota?
Will he figure it out? I don't know. But what is laughable is saying at 22 that he can't. Billups had five years in the NBA and college experience. Please don't tell me that you or anyone else saw it coming with Billups. Was it his 33% shooting? What it was with both of them is can they harvest their talents. Somebody would be very wise to take a shot at him for a 2nd rounder

I don't think it's only the lack of playing time thats bothering Gerald, but knowing that he has no future in Minnesota. I think he'd be alright being on a team and receiving minimal playing time if he knew the team had plans for him in the future, but when you're in your contract year with a team that has no intentions of keeping you around, you're going to be pretty desperate to showcase your talent to the rest of the league. What makes requesting a trade especially smart for Gerald and his agent is that it will likely prompt the Wolves to give him some time to showcase his ability before the deadline, at the very least giving chance for Gerald to create a market for this offseason even if he doesn't get dealt.
I personally don't want him back in Boston, because our style of play really wouldn't suit him at this point (nor did it last year really, but the pace was at least in the middle of the league rather than near the bottom). The best thing he could do is find his way into a rotation on a uptempo team, the same way JR Smith turned his career around. Let Gerald get out on the break, let him fire up some 3s, and he'll be pretty productive.

if it is, dont even let him get on the plane. have him follow Ray around for the rest of the year, if he doesnt get "it" from Ray Allen then he never will
Can't trade back for a player you've traded away during the season. The only way he can come back to the C's this season is to be waived.....
Green was traded by Boston during the current Salary Cap Year (the current July 1

I don't know what choice Gerald has. He is on the worst team in the NBA playing behind the one wing player in the league with more holes in his game mentally than himself. He has played okay when they play him but then they quickly sit him down for games at a time and put Brewer back in there.
He needs to go somewhere were they will put up with the gaffs and let him play and give him the 10-15 shots a game he needs. Miami would be a great fit as far as their situation, needs, and his but I can't imagine Riley is looking to go that route. Another good fit would be PHI they have little star power and can't shoot the 3 at all.

Particleman is right - I think his lack of BBIQ is overplayed. It's not so bad that he can't play in the league. He is very weak, has a poor handle, and has poor lateral quickness. Those aren't BBIQ related and hurt his game as well.
That being said he is like more motivated (but less talented) Kedrick Brown. He can accomplish something I think - but I would prefer not with us. We need heady veteran players not long shot projects. Good luck to him - with his sweet stroke he should find a role sooner or later..
