Guys, guys, guys...
No need to argue. There are plenty of losses for all of us to take.
Just being here day after day after day makes us all losers.
Embrace it.
Fire Ainge.

The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

To recap, you were a big Hayward guy but not that big on Cam, and I'm being a soft fake tough guy for responding to you calling me a clown several times by not reporting the posts and saying that you wouldn't say that to my face.
Thanks for setting me straight, and for getting me unbanned.
FWIW, I don't play tough. I'm an Irish kid from the city. Half my family are cops and combat vets, and half my old neighborhood is in jail. I've been employing combat vets and convicts so we can go out in the woods to cut down 200 foot tall trees and throw big logs around. I know what a tough guy is, and in my experience, it isn't usually someone who calls another grown man a clown from behind a monitor. YMMV.

Real tough guys don’t talk about how tough they think they are. Let’s keep it about basketball and how pathetic our team is. I’m sure we can all agree about that

All good. Pretty sure that's what I just said, actually. I got personal on no one, threatened no one, and didn't respond in kind after getting personally insulted multiple times, per request. Maybe it is cool to call a grown man a clown where you are from, but it isn't in the city of the team we are all posting about on this forum. That's all.

There's blame to go around the entire organization, but I'd say Tatum/Brown are the least at fault.
Tatum is a superstar. When he's 25-31 years old he's going to be making 1st team All-NBA selections. He's still learning as a player and once he realizes he can overpower and outsmart most players, forget it. I agree that he gets complacent at times and relies too much on the Harden side-step 3's, but overall he's fantastic.
Brown I would say is probably closer to what his peak form will be. I think he can be a 5x's All-Star type whereas Tatum is a 10x's plus type.
THE PROBLEM is that neither one of these guys strengths is facilitating and making players around them better. These guys are scorers first....So often times when they get the ball they are looking to score.
This team is lacking in playmaking. It's very obvious. Kemba is another guy who's score first. There is literally one guy on the entire roster that's a natural playmaker. Marcus Smart. And he shouldn't be the best playmaker on a team. That can't be the case. He needs to be 2nd or 3rd.
The blame goes on Danny Ainge for piecing together a team where the pieces don't fit. He has A LOT of what he needs. He's 2 players shy of having a great team. Hayward would have certainly helped....big stinker that he left. Danny needs to fix that problem ASAP.
I agree with this, but I also think this could be their way of forcing Brown and Tatum to be main playmakers in some way. Guys like Horford, Hayward, Smart, etc stunted their playmaking growth probably. We are now seeing the typical growing pains of a young team that was hiding the last few years because we had veterans to cover their holes and stunt some of their growth.
If we don’t care about them developing that part of their game, then yeah, having Horford, Hayward, and Smart around these two would literally be perfect. Pretty unfortunate.
FWIW I would like to see another playmaker on this team, but I could see the above as a reason why they might not go for it.

The best mod is one that hardly does any moderating except to 1) get rid of the occasional troll that spams every thread and 2) consolidate pointless/redundant threads that clutter the board.
The pinned thread on personal attacks should be removed bc it is lame.

Oh I brought that up bc I don’t think the mods should need to step in bc someone called someone else a clown or a neanderthal or some mild insult.
If some rando thinks you’re a clown who cares?

Agree, except seemed to be a big pretty big deal when I got permabanned for calling out ridiculous sexist behavior, and it also it ain't no **** to let a former mod talk personal **** to a guy who would wreck him but is ducking that **** by request.
I don't want any of this moderated, personally. Only seems to apply to me, though.
Pick a lane.

If either of you aren't enjoying your repartee, PM me and we'll follow it more closely. Obviously, SWC if you're doing personal attacks that aren't in the spirit of fun of your squabbles, that's not cool, so knock it off.
As for your permaban, Cave, you were absolutely in the right to call out Viper, and getting banned over that was lame. I wasn't a mod then, but my interpretation was it was more of a lifetime achievement award than it was for calling him a name once. It's not like you were a wallflower, and oops the word neanderthal slipped out and you were banned. And, people went to bat for you and you were reinstated. You can hold a grudge and randomly call out the mods or accept it and move on.
You're a great poster, and i love having you here, but you do play differently and get moderated differently. If you think current mods aren't treating you fairly, pm me.

Thank you, sorta. I think my only point here wrt to moderation is that you are not clearly allowed to repeatedly call someone a "clown". On a much less egregious level that was made pretty clear to me with a permaban and a sticky that is still there today, I've adhered, and I'm still adhering, even with a former mod who is clearly not doing that. Do whatever you want on that, but the false equivalence here sucks.
For real, dude legit was way out of bounds 2-3 posts in a row, I ate it and didn't respond on the personal ****, and it is still about me and lifetime achievement award somehow? Tell me what what the rules are, already. As predicted, they clearly didn't apply to a former mod that is way out of bounds.
Right?

I always maintained Cam was a mid tier starting QB. Thought Hayward was overrated. Admitted wrong on each. Youve brought these up at least once a month since November now.
Heres what happened this go round:
Me: I dont want to hear how its all good cuz we made the ECFs 3 times in 4 years. Its not good, and we’ve been the most disappointing team in the league 2 out of 3 years.
You: yah, well you were wrong about Hayward!!1! And Cam Newton!!1!
And how exactly am I supposed to respond to that? You’ve taken offense to me calling you a clown, a mild term for someone whos been trying to clown me repeatedly for admittedly wrong takes now. And then try to big boy me by saying I wouldnt call you that to your face.
FWIW, I’m a 6’6 former D1 college lineman in the best shape of my life. Ive gotten my ass kicked and I’ve kicked a lot off ass. Not worried by someone 15 years my senior who vacations in Chappy.

Dude has replied at least once a month since November now trying to clown me for two takes I was wrong on and now is threatening me physically cuz I called him a clown. After crying for mod attention.
It was good fun for me, but I shouldnt be expected to lay down when the dude repeatedly has followed me, trying to clown me and now is playing virtual tough guy behind the keyboard.

Re: Danny Ainge's AOS (of a season): CLE 117, BOS 110 (20-20)
I'm not playing on anyone's side because I don't know the full story, but a lot of us could really use some humility. Can't we just talk about sports without being **** to each other? Why do we have to predict things and compete for who knows the most before **** even happens? It's so childish and it's one of the reasons I don't frequent this forum as much as I'd like to. Just **** respect each other, it's really not that hard. Some of you honesly come off as "sports narcissists" (made that up). But no, I can't tell you how many **** times I've gotten some sarcastic ass response from someone who is a regular here on an opinion I have. it's all fun and games when you know someone and are having a friendly back and forth... it's another thing if you don't know someone well, and they laugh at your opinion or something. **** gets old and pisses me off. I come here to have fun, I don't need some **** making fun of me for talking about basketball. And it's ALWAYS after we lose, like yall can't control your abusive behavior and have to lash out at everyone and everything... it's **** sick and just weird. I can say there is one person here who has done that multiple times to me throughout the years... We all need to just chill out and stop trying to make each other feel like **** about our sports opinions.
Yeah that person was wrong or you don't agree with them, does that mean you should laugh at them or constantly jab at them about it? NO. That's just being an elitist prick. There are ways you can disagree with people without being an overbearing jerk. And what's more astounding is, even if I found that I was wrong, there have been plenty of times I knew for a fact I was right yet I would get a couple responses mocking me, it's mindblowing. We can disagree on things WITHOUT treating each other poorly and instigating fights.

I feel like opponents are always having career nights against us. Garland is the latest.
So for me, the AOS is our defensive intensity. I liked that coach went with grant Williams bc he was playing his a$$ off. That helped us come back and make it close. Only problem is he isn’t particularly talented.
