They've also sounded open to a Grant S&T where we take back Jalen Smith or Isaiah Jackson... which would give them a little more cap room.

But two "rotation players" leaves them a 45-48 win team. Mathurin has to blow up or they're boring

Perhaps a S&T where we get either Theis/Jalen Smith/Isaiah Jackson + McConnell and IND gets Grant?

Then we trade Pritchard..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Rockets are our friend in FA. More key pieces not returning or good players going to contenders, the better. (I don't mean Dillon Brooks. I hope he ends up a Laker. Kyrie to Miami, make it happen.)

Doesn't only half of grants salary count for matching purposes in a S&T?

Theis could honestly be a buy out and vet min guy at this point. I'd take him as emergency depth for timelord/porzingis injuries... but not for 9 mil a year. Better offer just paying Grant 14 mil or something.

Interesting. I've always had a positive view on him. He's still only 23?

He’s young but I’ve watched him a lot and he’s not worth giving up draft capital for. Brad traded for D. White and tried to trade for Poetl who are the complete opposite: good defenders and passers, high IQ and efficient.

Oooh, I love Bojan Bogdanovic's game for us. I think he can score with off ball action vs. needing it in his hands.

If Grant got $16M in year 1 that's $8M outgoing for S&T purposes.
Add in Pritchard ($4M)
Add in Hauser ($2M)
Add in Kornet ($2.4M)
Add in Champagnie (2M)

I THINK that gets you enough outgoing money to match Bogi. Since giving Pritchard/Hauser I wouldn't do the multiple 2nds, but I'd throw a first in there.

White / Brogdon
Brown
Tatum / Bogi
Porzingis
RWilliams / Horford

I **** love that lineup. Fill in with vet mins. I'd go into the 2nd apron for that

Like Jalen but have strong preference for Isaiah Jackson for the roster as constituted.

Hey, if they want to blow a wad on Grant Will and they'd be willing to send back Jackson to save some cash I'd be all for that.

Does anyone else worry about the number of old/injured players we suddenly have on our roster?

Horford - needs major minutes/games reduction this year
Rob - made of glass
Porzingis - not exactly an iron man
Brogdon - made of glass
Grant - reliable, probably gone

With the new CBA - you pretty much have to get production out of all the guys you're paying big bucks - especially if you have multiple guys on max contracts. That makes me think we have to do more to reduce the injury risk on our roster.

Definitely a concern. And honestly, I don't think new CBA really impacts that. When 4 of your top 7 are guys with availability questions that was a huge issue under any CBA.

Under the old CBA we probably would have been able to re-sign Grant AND use the tax payers MLE. Now, we'll likely need to pick one. So I guess the new CBA hurts our depth to some degree, but this would still be a huge concern under any CBA.

The Clips aren't likely to get Harden for what they were willing to pay for Brogdon. It was the Clips who screwed us, not Harden.

Looks like FVV to Houston is a done deal.

Toronto for some reason wants to remain competitive.

If Celtics were so inclined to move Brogdon you could do something like

Boucher + Otto Porter
For
Brogdon

And then send two seconds to Washington for Monte Morris.

With Boucher you can now S&T Grant for a tpe or package him and Porter for something a bit more juicy.

Not exciting, but Brad has done excellent on the fringes.

Oh, I totally agree with all that. But if we lose, say, Rob to a 12-month injury and decide to cut bait, he's harder to move for a replacement under the new CBA, even if you attach draft assets.

I'm just generally interested in mitigating injury risk. Ditching Brogdon would help with that.

2 bench scrubs for what would be the starting PG for Toronto who is reigning 6moty?

I want MORE for toronto for that.
