Their only option is to wildly overpay a 4th tier FA or two, same as it has been all along.

This. All these moves do is increase the chance that the nets go into fire sale mode and blow it up completely

I definitely saw the Calipari rumor at some point recently.

Other thing it could be doing is just clearing house for a sale, which they can do now ownership is consolidated.

Calipari is dangerous in that he's a pretty damn good recruiter. Any former Kentucky alums set for FA soon?

Another name being thrown around to coach is Thibs. That.....would not be good for our picks.

Why on earth would coach Cal go there? He already turned that offer down from the lakers.

Dolla dolla bill y'all. But seriously to leave the power he has now in college is going to have to be for the right situation and I don't think that situation is Brooklyn

Sounds like this may be wild intervention from a clueless (bball wise) owner. So good news.

The timing is really odd. After the 0-9 start. or whatever it was, would make sense. But now? I don't see what could've pushed Prok over the edge besides the Jack injury, which is hardly something anyone deserves blame for. Must be pandering to the remaining fans, I guess?

Wonder if there was any chance the FO was ordered by ownership to dump money and the Jack injury blew it up in their faces.

Thibs going to work for Prok after the ownership issues he had in Chicago? Have to think there are better jobs out there for a guy looking to win.

Right now the Brooklyn job is ripe for an assistant getting his first HC gig, an NCAA guy making the jump, or a retread with "experience."

The general consensus on the Nets board is that the Nets will blow it up. Trade Lopez, Young for picks/cap space and waive JJ. What are the odds of this happening?

Not sure there is a more perfect phrase for this season than "Nets firesale"
