I like it lots. Garland is a stud and would pair great with tatum imo.

Then can kove timelord for a power forward

Garland/brogdon
Smart/white
Tatum
??/grant
Allen/horford

How?

Mitchell and brown are close
Mitchell and garland both like having the ball and are both shorter guard

Mitchell has only been there in cleveland for 1 year. They've worked hard over the past few years to assemble that good young core of mobley/mitchell/garland/allen. They're not gonna break it up after just 1 year - those guys are still young, too.

And Mitchell/Garland are both short but Mitchell plays much bigger because he's built like a running back, has a 6'10" wingspan and a 40" vertical. The Jazz had Conley/Mitchell back court and had the best record in the league. The fact that they couldn't get over the hump in Utah was not because their back court was 2 short guys.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

You have 1 team trading 2 premium assets and the other team trading 1. Garland probably has more value right now than Brown on his own because he's locked up, and this trade has the Cavs adding Allen who also has a lot of value. Plus, the money is way off. Boston has to add value and money going out.

Absolutely horrific floor spacing. That lineup doesn’t fit at all. You have absolutely no reliable perimeter shooting in your closing lineup for the J’s. So easy to pack the paint vs that team.

DeRozen doesn’t make sense for this team unless they redo the rest of the guard rotation to add shooting. Trading for him makes way more sense with White or Smart going out vs Brogdon. You need some reliable shooting out of your backcourt. Smart/white/DeRozen ain’t it in that regard.

Well Al is the obvious finisher there. Outside that, it’s a better three point shooting lineup than the team currently smoking the Celtics in the ECF.

They’ve got three guys starting who shot 35% from three and two guys who can’t hit threes.

MIA also has one of the best coaches ever. And Jimmy is a better ball handler through traffic than our guys so he doesn’t require as good spacing. I also think Vincent and Strus are probably closer to their 20-21 shooting numbers vs this year’s percentages.

This is kind of cope really.

Celtics have a slew of three point shooters this year and they are getting smoked. Their pitch a three offense sucks right now because everyone knows there’s only one or two guys that are a threat to do a damn thing otherwise and it’s become super predictable.

No one cares if most of these guys cut to the rim it’s just not hard enough to stop.

Celtics trade Brogdon, Pritchard, and S&T Grant plus a 1st

Magic trade Carter Jr and Gary Harris.

Filler to match salaries based on what Grant gets. WCJ is the catch obviously, but Orlando has a glut of 4’s and that’s likely Paulo’s best spot as well. I’m bored and I’ve seen worse lol.

Garland does bot have more value than brown.

Allen costs 20 million per season (too much) and there are questions in cleveland about mobley and allen working together. Robert guves them a similar type of player on literally 1/2 the salary. Bringing him off the bench or even flipping him is easier

They also know that Cleveland is NOT where mitchell wants to be and his flight risk is very high.

Having one of his close friends in Jaylen there all but ensures he stays.

I just think you took it too far in the other direction. Tough to cut to the rim even if you’re good at it if teams can pack the paint all the time.

I guess we just disagree. Garland is locked up, there is no doubt about his contract. Jaylen has one year left. That means there are questions and that fact alone hurts his value. Allen's contract is widely considered a bargain and he has tremendous value. Not sure why you are mentioning Robert since you don't have him in the trade. You are also banking too much on the friendship of Mitchell and Brown, while ignoring the fact that this trade leaves Cleveland without a PG.

If you think it's a fair trade, maybe post it on the big board and see what folks say.

Ok I see. Well that makes the value a lot more interesting, but I still can't picture Cleveland moving their young stud PG who's locked up long term. Moving Allen makes some sense for them.

The part of that to really jump out at me is Toronto's return for OG. He is not worth nearly that much.

Not saying I’m gonna do this but if Hornets offered Hayward (exp), Mark Williams, Cody Martin, #27, future first for Brown and Grant S&T (NC native), would it really surprise you if Stevens brought his boy back?

Very light return in terms of star talent but I’m sure there are a couple of posters here that will be cool with it. No clear #2 but team will increase its BBIQ and ball movement. Plus Cs will have the Williams Twin Towers.

And no, Hornets aren’t dumb enough to offer #2.

Return to Boston Celtics
