And Turner will be looking to get paid in the offseason and we will either have to overpay Turner to keep him or he walks and goes somewhere else.

Or Hayward, or someone with one of the 19 million picks we have.

There will be money to offer a free agent, or they can just retain Turner, if he fits in...

Yeah, money to offer a FA that would be inferior to both Green & Turner.

My point is if we were to trade for Turner or Hayward, then there's pretty much no way we keep them in free agency without overpaying them. And I'd rather keep Jeff at his $9 mil a year than overpay an Evan Turner or a Gordon Hayward. And then also have an overpaid Omer Asik on the books.

Asik and Green are similar statistically, so I guess Ainge is overpaying Green too...

Asik will be getting paid $15 mil a year next season. I'd much rather pay Jeff Green $9 mil a year than pay Asik $15 mil.

How can you possibly compare Asik and Green statistically? They are two polar opposite players.

First off- No way DA trades Jeff Green for Asik. I'm sorry, but I don't see any plausible scenario in which he does that. We should probably just stop talking about that right now.

Secondly, Bass for Asik is a win for the C's. We significantly upgrade an area of need by giving up a rather redundant albeit effective player. I don't see how it can be viewed as anything other than a win. Imagine, after all this time, people don't want to trade Bass. All the while we keep almost all of our assets.

I'll pick up Brandon and drive him to the airport.

Asik will be getting paid $15 mil a year next season. I'd much rather pay Jeff Green $9 mil a year than pay Asik $15 mil.

It's a $8.374 million cap hit though.

But he will still be paid $15 mil.

He's just not worth it to me. Like I said earlier, he's a better rebounding version of Perkins when he was in Boston. And might be worse offensively than Perkins was.

Why does it matter to you what he's actually making? It doesn't effect the cap in any way. The only person it should matter to is Wyc.

I like Asik, but it is a win quicker move and we would be left with a lack if scoring at the 3.

We can't have Wallace, Askik, rondo as 3 starters. That puts too much pressure on Bradley and Sully to score. This te needs a high-scoring SF to fit around those players.

Get me Asik, but not for Green.

Not to mention the fact that we would have three potential Hack-a-Shaq victims in the starting lineup.

Btw, sully and Asik is a terrific rebound and defend 4/5. Bring Olynk off bench as a scorer--- I love it. We have then an all-star PG. We just need to get a dominant scorer at the SG or sf. Asik is a piece worth having.

Wallace can't start. I'd rather play Olynyk at the 3 than Wallace. That isnt because i think Olynyk would be good at it

I actually like Jeff but feel like I'm being forced into a position where I have to "hate on" him... the guy just isn't a core player for an elite team. At best he can play the Lamar Odom role as the #4 on a championship team.

If he's the only thing standing between you and one of the more dominant defensive bigs in the league, then you send him packing ASAP. Stevens is fapping to whatever advanced defensive metrics are on Asik's basketball reference page right now.. I'd love to see what kind of havoc Brad can cook up with this guy in the mix.

Worry about who's running next to Rondo later. It's not like we don't have the pieces to get someone better than Jeff Green anyway.

Couldn't disagree more. With every single word.
