Kyrie didn't have his ball-dominant tendencies tested at all last year. Think they could excel together but it has to happen.
Hayward is one of the best off ball guys in the league. His usage rate at Utah was extremely low his final year
And Kyrie moved the ball around a lot last year, particuarly at the start of the year.
Right, and then stopped and got put in the IT role because of injuries. Hayward's usage was .276 in Utah, Kyrie's was .310 last year, and Marcus Morris was second on the team, for guys who played 1000 minutes, at .230.
We were 18th in offensive rating last year and 20th in points per game, so there's major room to improve. We're very likely going to be in the 55-65 win range and Hayward is going to be a big part of it.
That doesn't guarantee the fit's going to be seamless. I'm not just thinking of how many points they score per game, but the quality and ease of the looks everyone gets, the sophistication of our offense, whether it's well-oiled machine good or you're getting 25 a night from Kyrie and Gordon because of their pure skill.
