Hayward is one of the best off ball guys in the league. His usage rate at Utah was extremely low his final year

And Kyrie moved the ball around a lot last year, particuarly at the start of the year.

I've said this a thousand times already, but this Celtics team is going to be incredible. This is the deepest/most stacked team the Celtics have had in a long, long time. Only issue is that in 08 the Western Conference didn't have a Golden State caliber team. The Lakers were really good, but not at the Warriors level. If the Celtics are healthy, and the young guys improve the way I think they will improve, watch out. It's going to be a fun ride.

Right, and then stopped and got put in the IT role because of injuries. Hayward's usage was .276 in Utah, Kyrie's was .310 last year, and Marcus Morris was second on the team, for guys who played 1000 minutes, at .230.

We were 18th in offensive rating last year and 20th in points per game, so there's major room to improve. We're very likely going to be in the 55-65 win range and Hayward is going to be a big part of it.

That doesn't guarantee the fit's going to be seamless. I'm not just thinking of how many points they score per game, but the quality and ease of the looks everyone gets, the sophistication of our offense, whether it's well-oiled machine good or you're getting 25 a night from Kyrie and Gordon because of their pure skill.

Hayward is about a perfect a fit here as Al Horford was. I have no idea where this is coming from? Did you not see this team in the pre season last year?

Last year people had questions about Hayward's scoring and his tendency to drift without being/getting involved, and everyone was content to chalk that up to it being the preseason.

I'm not doubting that we'll be good, I'm wondering how good we'll be, and how the offense will work, based on the limited sample size.

I'm sure Ainge and Stevens did plenty of research about the two and how they'd fit before they traded for Kyrie.

Anyone who was questioning anything about Gordon Hayward's ability to fit in the offense, based on last year's preseason in which he was fitting amazingly well into the offense, should not be taken seriously.

They should have known coward and the queen bitch would have been After Hayward? Season over in 5 minutes. I can't understand why Danny has never gotten an enforcer? No one on Celtics teams ever stand up and get even. Why is Jr Smith still in the league? Why was Wade the scum bag allowed to slam Isaiah Thomas to the floor like that and no pay back. The Celtics will like be lucky to win one more NBA championship if they play like sissies never get revenge. These are the facts. Marcuis Smart and Morris are fake tuff guys. Jr Smith pushes their all star center in the back and nothing is done, even the the year before he sent chowder to hospital. They need a man that strikes fear when other players see him. Guy that does not care about losing few pay checks to enforce his dominance.imho

I’m generally an optimist. In the absence of information I’m hopeful.

But I can’t shake this pinging in my gut that Gordon doesn’t come back with the explosiveness he had before the injury.

I hope I’m wrong.

He will be fine. His recovery went well. He said he needs to regain some explosiveness but that will come back no doubt.

Prediction: Either Jonas Jerebko or Daniel Theis becomes an NBA champion in June 2019.

So is Hayward actually 6'10?

I saw quite a few pics where he and Horford were the same height
