Knicks signed 3 power forwards tonight. Does that mean Vonleh may be available and the Celtics may go after him. I can only hope.

Willy Cauley-Stein
7'0" 240 7'3" wingspan, almost 26 years old
Total rebound % = 16, OBPM = -0.6, DBPM = 2.2, VORP = 2.3, WS/48 = 0.146

Noah Vonleh
6'9" 250 7'4" wingspan, almost 24 years old
TRB% = 16%, OBPM = -1.6, DBPM = 1.6, VORP = 0.9, WS/48 = 0.090

Vonleh shot 34% from 3; Cauley Stein has some decent passing ability (2.4apg)

Enes Kanter
6'11" 250 7'1" wingspan, 27yo
TRB% = 21%, OBPM = 1.5, DBPM = -0.2, VORP = 1.4, WS/48 = 0.159

Kevon Looney
6'9" 220 7'4" wingspan, 23yo
TRB% = 15%, OBPM = 1.9, DBPM = 1.8, VORP = 2.1, WS/48 = 0.194
.

Two are too short, two are too crazy.

Looney's only offense was an easy dunk when all the other Warriors were double/triple teamed.

Vonleh is nothing.

Kanter is terrible, brainless, no defense, trouble. Never passed a ball, ever.

WCS is a bust. Entered the NBA telling everyone he would be like Rodman, not even a William Bedford-level player.

If the Celtics had decided to tank, they would have a better roster with more ability and balance than their current one.

When will Celtics fans finally understand that Brad and Danny, and most of the NBA, don't put a lot of value on the center position? What more could it possibly take for this point to hit home? The 80's and 90's are over. Brad and Danny will be perfectly content to get some center off the scrap heap and play him 15 minutes a game.

Get rid of bench player, troublemaker, turnover dribbler J Brown now.

Code: Select all

Jamal Murray has agreed to a five-year/$170M max contract

Trade him, something else or not, get a power forward or center.

The Celtics are bad, but not if you compare them to the Knicks.

Washington laughed, said to take psycho Portis, they didn't want him.

Knicks traded away Zinger and two first rounders for Portis and Randle?

I wonder if the Horford drama had to do with the fact that the team got word Kemba was in play post Al opting out. Thus their original intention of agreeing to a long term deal with Horford wasn't as attractive as signing Kemba.

Would explain the move to trade Baynes (who was reportedly opting in under the impression he wouldn't be traded) also. Can't say I fault Danny - having a piece like Kemba is just significantly more valuable than a resigned Horford but probably made for some difficult conversations knowing there wasn't a credible path to getting Kemba and Horford (with Nets apparently not playing ball).

okay so if we can get to

Kemba/Smart/Edwards
Smart/Brown/Romeo
Hayward/Brown/Semi
Tatum/Theis/GWill/worthless Yabs
WCS or other/RWill/vet min (Joakim?)/Tacko

it'll be a fine save of a year and summer where everything went wrong.

Go C's.
Will be really interesting to see what Kawhi decides.
Been quite a day around here! Take it easy, esp. those in panic mode. We signed Kemba and that means we have to wait to see who we can get among leftover bigs. It's okay.

Edit to add RWilliams, missed him, thanks Leprechaun!

I would be unexcited if we signed Vonleh. Per of 13, low 30 3 pt %, 25 mpg and only 9 pts.

I mean, he screams average and was playing on the worst team in the league with 0 pressure. Not like his teammates were holding him back.

This has turned into a very depressing offseason...

Is Horford going to be sign and traded?

Career number of playoff games:

Kemba - 11
Rozier - 50

Time to get Kemba used to winning playoff games!

I have no idea what any of those stats mean. I watched him play quite a few times and he looks like a decent player. He is still fairly young and has room for improvement. Besides there aren't many other options out there.
