Why do the Heat not have the required minimum of 8 players?

This is getting out of hand.

Game postponed now because of the Heat not having enough players.

So the Sixers has a bunch of players out. Now the Celtics and Heat. Probably Washington soon.

NBA needs to start thinking about going to a bubble again at this current rate.

So are they going to postpone the next several games? Aren't all these players out multiple games?

March 11 2.0 seems nearly inevitable at this point

Also there might be something going on with Avery Bradley. Seems like he is electing not to play and that might be the case for a while. Maybe he has an underlying condition and that’s why he didn’t want to risk playing in the bubble during the playoffs.

This all might get out of hand soon. Seems like the NFL is doing a better job than the NBA with covid now.

For the best but I'd somehow convinced myself this game was going to be fun so I'm kinda selfishly disappointed lol.

AB's son has health problems that make him high risk for COVID. That's why he opted out of the bubble with the Lakers last season.

Well ironically it appears the games postponed because the Heat only had 7 available players. We still had 8 the and game was on from our end.

We should really claim one of our 8 tweaked an ankle so we can postpone all our games until we have Tatum back.

Silver doing a piss poor job with this, but that's not surprising as he's only really done one thing right since taking over the league (the bubble).

Bubble was amazing...but the season now it's getting out of hand, they have to change something.

Imo...who is positive is out, others play on.

If this was the Lakers, they're shutting it down easily. But it's us and Philly and Dallas so they'll turn a blind eye

This did not age well

I'm with Klemen. If you test negative you should play. Test positive you sit. The contact tracing rules means that 1 or 2 positives can shut down your whole team. We will never be able to play for more than 2-3 weeks at a time if that's how it goes. The other option is to do a couple of smaller bubbles until you can get teams vaccinated.

Exactly, they tried to outsmart themselves when deciding on this rules. In all sport here in Europe is like this, player testing positive goes into quarantene, others play on.

Contact tracing...come on all players are in contact with one another.

They need to try that Mini-Bubbles environment, that a poster mentioned.

Hey, isn’t there some rule that you can’t foul out a player when the roster is limited? I remember something like that with a Lakers game a few years back. Maybe I’m high, but this could likely work in DT’s favor.

I'm pretty sure there's such a rule. I forget whether extra fouls by a fouled-out player carry an extra penalty of some kind.

You can't foul out if the team doesn't have enough to put 5 guys on the floor. ie it will never be a hockey power play. I think you just keep the last guy out there and its A T for every foul after that. Been watching forever and I've never seen it happen though. Having 6 vs 5 on the court is more likely in my experience.

The T for each extra foul is exactly what I was thinking too.
