i dont care what people are saying, almost all the teams not named minny would be ecstatic if their 3/4 bigs were Korny and X. I don't know what people think other bench bigs look like but hell we might have as good/better 4th big than many 2nd bigs as crazy as that sounds. look at backup bigs in the league. kornet saved our butts in some of these playoff games, that's damn near all you can ask from 3rd string bigs! some opinions on this are weird to me but have at it folks.

It's mostly that our rotations and scheme are guaranteed to make Al and Kornet look bad. A bunch of other backup centers would also look crappy in our system - especially against this team.

agreed that's def part of it, drop coverage made Turner look like he was Curry last night?! Also Siakam made a living around the free throw line. Defense was terrible, all five guys need to be locked in..... Bench / Coaching nearly cost the C's game 1.

Really made me laugh.

Some of the guys here haven't learned that doubting JT is a bad idea.

Multiple posts about giving up on JT and how JT is not clutch then like magic, JT scores on an And 1 then JT follows that up with a dagger 3 to seal the win.

Maybe JT has crow mentality instead of that mamba BS.

This is a rich take.

It's almost as if it ignores the fact that he missed a layup with under 10 seconds left then immediately followed it up with a missed 5 foot jumper.

He was pathetic last night until overtime.

He had a bad 4th quarter and redeem himself in OT, but he was excellent the rest of the game.

Defensive rating of 107.7 for the playoffs which is the best among surviving teams so it hasn't been an exploitable flaw so far. This isn't to say we ignore the pick and roll defense but it's better imo to look at the defense as a whole instead of nitpicking one detail that can manufacture a doom and gloom narrative for clicks, which twitter analysts often do.

The Celtics won that game with defense, forcing 21 turnovers...

...and with late game heroics. Those were the first clutch minutes of the playoffs for Boston, and clutch they were. Winning this one shows something.

Indiana is good, fast, and they create chaos. Brissett plays like he used to be a Pacer. Maybe he should get a few minutes to match the ferocity. Kornet hasn't been the same since his last calf strain. Hauser had a really rough outing.

One game closer to Porzingis.

It doesn't matter. He failed.

Last night is about Brown and how he saved the game. Not about how we all gave up on Tatum too early.

He was that bad.

I think the reason our defense doesn't get the credit it deserves is because the one thing that really makes our defense shine is what doesn't happen rather than what happens. We just don't give up free throws, giving up 12.6 free throws per 100 possessions. The next best team is the Lakers with 16.6. The closest team among the final 4 is Dallas with 22 per 100.

Brown was 1-4 in the 4th with a bad turnover and defensive lapse to give up a layup in transition. He was 1-3 in OT. 1-7 in 4th and OT, is that clutch?
These clutch narratives are silly. You ignore how Brown was up to the final two plays and make him to be the hero based on two plays. Meanwhile you don't do the same for Tatum, ignoring the bad 4th quarter and calling him clutch based on the 5 minutes of OT.

JB saved his A$$ and Mazzulas head from rolling. JT wasn't terrible, just settled for tough shots and Nesmith locked him up a bit. Fully expecting Geno time in game 2! Go C's

This is why no one gets along. Ever.

The narrative is that Brown saved the game. Done deal. Nothing to see here.

He made the shot, Tatum didn't.

Obviously, but they could have done more, especially knowing how fragile Zinger has been

Not really. There's not enough centers in the league for one team to get three good ones.

Yep, Tillman & Kornet are about the best 3rd centers you can get in the league.

Yeah the defense is not going to take away everything. They are good at what they can control limit points in the paints, 3 pointers, transition points and they don’t foul. We don’t have a switchable big.

I’ll agree Brown was huge, but saying Tatum failed is just dumb. Dude made half his shots and owned overtime. Brown along with Jrue was the reason we had a chance and Tatum won it.

I really didn't think I had to spell it out for y'all but let me try.

Is Tatum taking over in overtime if Brown didn't save the day?

Did Tatum miss not one but TWO close range shots with the game on the line with the chance to be him?

A deserved callout to his running mate. I believe Tatum was 0/2 with a bad turnover in the final 2 minutes of regulation. And let's stop the talk of JB's shot won us this game. Don't get me wrong, the shot was massive, high difficulty, and so close to stepping out of bounds. It was clutch for sure, but the only reason we went to overtime and won this game was because Haliburton choked and turned the ball over down the stretch. He doesn't do that and JB's shot wouldn't have been enough. We were extremely lucky to win this game.

Jaylen has a right to not be very thrilled with the win, and not thrilled with how JT played to end the 4th. JB has shown growth and maturity and said all the right things postgame about JT and how we have to be better.

Now, I wish Joe would just follow suit, but his insertion of PP at all the wrong times of this game was mind boggling. From the first time PP hit the floor, it was clear he wasn't running the offense like he usually does. We got extremely stagnant and Pritchard wasn't driving and kicking or doing much of anything. He hurt us on both ends, outside of the few big threes he hit. Every time he entered the game, Pacers went on a run.
