Just the fact that articles like this keep popping up should be a concern for everyone.

Question for everyone why do journalist keep bringing this subject up? Why is it always on their mind?
Because it makes a story, and there's A LOT of ambivalence around it. Ambivalence leads to introspection and discussion.

I mean, it could be true. There's definitely some cause for SOME alarm. But it's speculation.

If you actually dissect it, there's not REAL hints at him leaving.

I think if anything, he may be using the threat of leaving to get the team an overhaul this off-season

Agreed, just saying and I think you said it best those are written to create debate discussion and clicks-the mere fact that it’s written doesn’t give it substance

Kyrie is not responsible for the psychology of his teammates dude.

Speaking of psychology, in ANY unhealthy relationship, both people (in this case parties) contribute to the dysfunction. The relationship is toxic.

By the very nature of it, EVERYONE involved in a dysfunctional relationship is part of the problem. That's simply how it is man. So when Kyrie gets blamed for all the interpersonal problems currently happening on this team...yeah that's not how it works.

There's a catalyst.. Terry, Brown and the young guys who think they are better than they are. Kyrie isn't happy with it, and had a hard time dealing with that, causing a rift between the team. Kyrie gets more fustrated, the young ego driven players get more marginalized and play within themselves, and the mood drops.

It's not just Kyrie. It's everyone. However, the point we are all making here is that this dysfunction wouldn't exist, Kyrie wouldn't be this fed up if these young guys got their stuff together.

My mother and father were in an abusive relationship. Whenever they would interact, my father would get upset and hurt, because my mother was always on edge around him. He has tried to be civil, but she always had an attitude and a defense up against him. Their in-the moment-interactions, and the catalyst for each of their arguments we're because of her attitude.. and my father acted like the victim. Who is at fault in the dysfunction here? My mother you would think. She causes all of the fights

Well, she's like that because he was abusive for 25 years. But she further adds to the dysfunction

My point is that everyone in dysfunctional relationships play a role. The stance that Kyrie is the problem with this team's chemistry, no matter how hard it's intellectualized is simply wrong. It's just not true. It's more complicated than that.

See my previous post. Kyrie is responsible for himself, just as the other players are responsible for themselves.

You hit the nail on the head. When Kyrie stated he was staying in Boston at the start of the season, that was like the kiss of death to reporters who were banking on the "Where's Kyrie going to sign" story playing out for the entire NBA season. They just had to stir the pot up again to have more to write about. Unfortunately, Kyrie played into their hands by not being direct when answering them, which is exactly what they wanted and ran with. Then, all the "if it's in my facebook feed it's true" crowd bought into it hook, line, and sinker. PT Barnum might be the richest man in the world if he was alive during these social media reliant times.

Make no mistake about it, it's fans like you who are more the embarrassment then any record. Grab a clue and get on the wagon and support the guy. He also has legit tried to recruit more stars to this team to win some of you another title.

I used to enjoy games without Kyrie that we won since it really never mattered to me who was playing. Then when I started to hear the anti Kyrie agenda, the joy was sucked out. Why? Since it's impossible to almost enjoy anything with today's agenda filled frenzy.

I saw the Raptors this year go into GS and blow out the Dubs without Kawhi Leonard. Didn't hear a mass hysteria frenzy over how they won without Leonard. I see the Pacers win without Oladipo vs. good teams.

I think the only thing it is used against at times with the record is with Kyrie and sometimes Durant since he jumped on board to a 73 win team and they hardly ever lose without KD even if they win with him too. I mean I seen loads of Warriors fans get going again when Durant missed those games vs. the Rockets/OKC on the road recently and say they sometimes wish they could go back to MVP Curry and the pure Splash Brothers era.

But you know what? With the Warriors fans I GET IT. They love the MVP Curry style and the Splash Brothers memory which actually won a title too. And those dudes are HOF level.

What do Celtics fans do? Worship a bunch of scrubs and kids who never won a god damn thing. Celtics fans who prefer a midget ass broken down IT and give him the hero worship treatment when he comes back to Boston or freaking ass Rozier. Or "long two" Tatum who they believe is a top 5 player in their hearts since he is "home grown" when the reality is he looks more like a fringe sort of all star at times then the next AD or KD.

It's freaking pathetic the hate Kyrie gets at times for a few media comments. People act like he came into their homes and banged their women in front of them.

One of the reasons this team can win without Kyrie is because in Brad's third grade gold star system they can take turns chucking their shots up and feeling like studs. When Kryie comes back you can almost at times feel a few of them sulk like "awww mom, I wanted more shots today, why does the cool kid on the block have to take our fun away?". And it don't even work without Kyrie always. In Cleveland the other night, third worst team in the league arguably. What happens? Even Tatum gets iced out in the second half! God forbid they even let Tatum have the big game, why hurt any feelings? Let Tatum stop before he shows off too much and it's not team oriented.

Make no mistake about it, if Kyrie leaves it's because he can do better then Brad's college system and he will believe he isn't the coach to help get this team and him and AD etc. to a title or two.

Open your eyes, some of you can't see the forest for the trees at times. If Kyrie is a meanie burger for some comments this year or sulks at times you call him an embarrassment? Well you will see the embarrassment in the future if this whole rebuild of Ainge fails and you are stuck seeing TD Garden cheering for the once almost great Brad favorite Gordon Hayward as he collects 34 million a year and then goes home to play video games every night.

If I went too far in this post I apologize but really it's like ground hog day this year with the same Kyrie stuff over and over again and this particular comment pushed my buttons.

Either root for the guy in a Kyrie support thread or GTFO at times. By the age of 25 the dude was a world champion with the biggest shot in his franchises history, an Olympic champion and we were damn lucky we could get him for Isaiah Thomas.

By the age of 25 most of the guys on this current team would be lucky to sniff any of those things.

Hell Rozier is 25 now and has never done a damn thing. Oh yeah I forget, last year they beat Simmons and Embiid in their first go around in the playoffs too. They almost dropped confetti in Philly, it was super funny. And then Tatum dunked on Lebron in a loss in game 7 while the team blew an 0-2 series lead. OMG it was so damn special. Lets pretend we are Colts fans now and we almost beat the Patriots and hang banners for it.

Yeah another golden comment. Like some of you can't WAIT until we lose WITH Kyrie to spark that agenda back up.

Did he hurt your wittle feelings that much?

I have even been accused of being a fairweather Kyrie only fan here despite the fact I live a freaking hour and a half from TD Garden, lived over 8 years in Boston for high school and college and go to a game from time to time when it can happen. I was even at a playoff game last year when Kyrie was out.

I chose the Kyrie handle when I joined too since he is FUN. Or it was fun until people ruined it.

But the taunting at times by so called Celtics fans about "Wait until we blow it and Kyrie has egg on his face!" is absolutely pathetic. Almost like you want the guy to have some sort of public humiliation so it can justify the feelings you bottled up in your mundane lives.

I apologize to mods btw, but really we had a mod already here a few pages back say Celtics fans and media have gotten pretty pathetic and it has.

I have seen legit youtube and twitter accounts dedicated to just hating on Kyrie btw. The hate thing is real. And it's becoming disturbing. I seen it for Lebron and Kobe too. So it makes me wonder if Kyrie is just another polarizing player but I certainly expected more from Celtics fans.

Kyrie doesn't run a gulag behind the scenes btw. I think he had the truest intentions with this team and organization but it fell apart at times this season. Does not mean though it was ALL on him, open your eyes.

I am sure some of you would be pretty happy if Kyrie and KD for example went to NY but then Kyrie told them the keys to the Brad system and they each plopped 40 points on the Celtics asses in a win.

And don't even bother replying back, I don't want to hear it and get my notification box spammed with "But blah blah blah I got some stats to show you, omg Kyrie homer.........look at this and leadership and omg he played with Lebron too and leadership."

Oh my lord all of this damage control to defend Kyrie. I honestly think someone might need to be watching you 24/7 when he leaves.

Typical and I said do not spam my notifications but you did.

And I am almost expecting him to leave since I don't think this team can go far so don't act like I would be suprised. I almost believe he deserves better.

But thanks for proving my point right, you guys really just sit around waiting to post one or two lines that literally mean nothing. No substance in your posts, no real analysis. Absolutely nothing.......no original thoughts whatsoever.

Almost like people would rather lose with kyrie just to say they are right than have the team succeed with him and them being wrong

Spoiled fans too. Nothing is a given in sports no matter what happened the year before and what expectations were there.

The east is far tougher this year, which I had a bad feeling would happen once Lebron left and it got more open again for everyone. He had a strangle hold on the east for far too long. I also find it ironic that Lebron breaks down finally once he leaves the east. Figures. He was at a GOAT level for so long you had to wonder if it would ever end.

Thats why I never bought any of the Kyrie to Lakers rumors either. If Kyrie didn't want to play with the GOAT level Lebron, I highly doubt he wants to play with the aging lesser Lebron. I think one of the reasons Kyrie reached out to Lebron too was because he started to see him break down and felt kinda sorry for him as well. He said out loud after the Lakers game he couldn't believe Lebron wasn't going to have a chance in the playoffs. Like it was bizarre to him.

Like Lebron almost became more human again this year, I don't know it's odd. He's a Laker and he's Lebron but even with the hate towards him this season it can get out of hand to me too. The desire to just hate on individual athletes is getting weird and we burn them at the stake when they screw up. At the end of the day these are still human beings even if we hate them as rivals or their teams.

And a lot of posters here last June wanted Lebron and floated the idea around for him in Boston. Talked about trading Kyrie away to bring in Lebron. Yes the thread is there from the summer.

Lebron almost begging for AD was near pathetic as well, he needs that help so bad. At the same time, the Celtics begging for stars too has to be kept down a notch from time to time, desperation can be a pretty unattractive quality.

Winning the first round against a tough Pacers team would please me. I don't think going out early in the playoffs though would please the FO who want a lot more.

This is the first season I think expectations were this high in a long long time and I think everyone has a scapegoat set up ahead of time. And I think sometimes the team has felt the pressure even if they don't admit it out loud. From Kyrie to the young guys to an aging Al and a rehabbing Gordon.

For me though by nature in any sport when things fail I often point to coaching and management. I don't like how this roster is set up at all TBH. But it is what it is, it's the team we got and we have to hope can do well this postseason regardless of seeding. Since it won't be the same team next year at all.

Winning a title is tough, we all want it and we all crave it but it's tough in sports. We can't cheer for just coming close either but we do.......

You have a better chance with Kyrie though then without Kyrie.

Now that certainly is something rather odd for a Celtics fan (rather than simply a Kyrie fan) to have said.

Because the truth sometimes hurts. There are issues beyond Kyrie that anyone with a brain can see this year.

I know though you have come after me in recent weeks from time to time. So like I said last time to you, don't bother replying to me if you won't offer original thoughts and opinions that I can debate with other then "You aren't a real fan".

The real fandom thing means literally nothing to me at all. I have nothing to prove to some random dudes online who I will never in real life ever meet or even here have a real in depth good conversation with.

And yes I have actual buddies on this forum I have good convos with about the Celtics and basketball. I also have friends from other teams too.

I can be really really nice when it is deserved. But also I can throw punches back too when I read the same garbage repeatedly strung out day after day like a bunch of parrots repeating what they hear in the media.

Return to Boston Celtics
