Wanamaker is a FA next year after playing on the vet minimum this season. Maybe he's the guy that team in need of a backup PG will go get. The C's of course have Kemba, Marcus, Tremont and Carson under contract already for next year.

Should be required viewing for anyone concerned about how much attention Tacko is getting. He’s larger than life and living it up. Last guy who conducted the Pops was Shaq, right? In twenty years Tacko will be advertising IcyHot it’s all good folks

I guess that must have been Keith LockHURT introducing Tacko FELL:

(And it's a semi-regular part of their schtick to have guest conductors.)

By the end of this season he's gonna be light years better than he was at the end of his college career. Going into FA, if I'm his representation, I'm leveraging all of that into a full time guaranteed roster spot with a chance for minutes or he walks. And if I'm Danny and we sunk all of this training and development into Tacko, to see any other team reap those benefits would be unfathomable. Plus the town burns if he's allowed to walk away. I think unless he falls (no pun intended) flat, He's our 3rd Center next year. I'd have to think next season we sign an FA big as well. And maybe Theis stays and/or TimeLord depending on how/when he comes back from injury.

Where do you think Rob is going? Also with a $5M team option, why do you think Theis might be leaving? Kanter, if anyone, is who may be up in the air with a $5M player option. Still a long way off, however. This postseason will affect the motivations of those with options.

Keep in mind that I'm to a large degree, admittedly spitballing here. So take this all with a huge grain of salt. That said, here's my thinking:

In Rob's case, I'll be interested to see how the rest of this year turns out for him. I don't like hip problems. They make me nervous about a player's long term viability. If it's sore once this bad, how do we do know it won't be chronic? I'm hoping it won't because I like him. But now I'm keeping one eye on that issue. As for Theis, he's non-guaranteed after this year. He makes a pittance but unlike Poirier and Kanter, he's not guaranteed. Those guys I suppose could always be traded but we'll see. Also, I just have it in my mind that we're gonna pick up a big this season on the waiver wire. And whomever that is (hopefully Favors or Thompson) could be in line to be resigned. Or we could sign some other FA big to the MLE next year.

All this to say that I really have no idea what's gonna happen but there's a scenario where every other big save Grant Williams maybe doesn't come back. I suppose Rob is more likely to be back even if he loses this year to injury but I'm hoping this isn't a thing and I'm just making something out of nothing.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Tacko Fall is a 36 minutes monster:

43.5 Points, 23.4 rebounds, 6.7 blocks!

Spoiler:
also 10 fouls but let's ignore that.

Time to abolish the 3 point line and the 3 second rules on both sides of the court. It's Tacko's time

One highlight, and im not going to read much into it, but I have to admit that i didn't think Tacko was capable of that (relatively) quick footwork.

Edwards looks pretty much as advertised. Once in a blue moon he will shoot lights out but mostly he's inefficent chucker who provides neither defense nor playmaking.

That pre-season Cavs game was his 42 point college moment.

Too bad we traded 20th pick Thybulle for Edwards.

Let me tell you something: He will be on the full team roster with a guaranteed deal next year. Much like Kanter it will be matchup based but by the time next year rolls around, by this time next year, he's gonna be playable in some games. He's not fleet afoot but he is learning the angles on D. His FT stroke looks a billion times better than when he left college. And he's not a stiff out there. He showed great patience on that postup too. All Great signs.

Adam Himmelsbach has a Carsen Edwards piece. (I was one of those quick hypers. Oops.)

Read on Twitter

Celtics’ Carsen Edwards adjusts to up and downs of rookie season

After pouring in 24 points in those nine magical preseason minutes, he has 82 for Boston during the regular season. The Celtics have been outscored by an average of 6.3 points per 100 possessions during his 246 minutes, the only negative net rating among Boston’s players who have played at least 50 minutes this season.
But Edwards is not discouraged. “I’ve never really paid attention to any expectation that anyone outside this team has for me,” Edwards said. “So I honestly couldn’t tell you what I’d be frustrated about other than just me personally wanting to do well and me having expectations for myself. I just want to be the best player I can and continue to improve every day. Just be the best player I can to try and help this team win, however that is.”

In six games with the Red Claws, Edwards has averaged 21.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, although he connected on just 26.8 percent of his 3-point attempts. He says there was great value in his stint with Maine, not just to get playing time and maintain his conditioning, but to become more familiar with different reads and scenarios that are also common at the NBA level.

“I think that’s what fits so well about the Red Claws is that the scheme is very, very similar to the Celtics. So when I go to either team it’s not like I’m behind or feel like I’m behind on learning things, because we’re doing the same stuff.
Stevens said that Edwards’s attitude has been “awesome” amid a few bumps at the start of this year. With Boston in the midst of a grueling stretch of the season that includes four sets of back-to-back games this month, Edwards was recalled from Maine, and Stevens has said he will not hesitate to use him if the situation calls for it.

“Carsen’s going to be a good pro for a long time,” Stevens said. “This is part of it. A lot of our games early on in the year we didn’t have our full group of wings, trying to figure out who complements who best. I think his upside is really big. We need him to become the scorer that we all know he is and just continue to get used to guarding the way we’re guarding. I’ve got no concerns about him doing that.”
