I miss the days when we lost to the Heat because Oladipo was picking Browns pocket every other play. At least that had comedic appeal.

I'm not as confident with the 5 now. It was clear what Heat was doing in the 1st Q. And we let it happen for 3 more Qs.

I thought if the Heat were going to win a game in this series it would be game 2 and it would send us to a 2 day meltdown so I’ll stick with my original prediction and hope its correct lol

I asked in the game thread if there was anybody picking the Cs to lose Game 2 and nobody said yes.

I wasn’t on here pre-game but told my friend at work “I think it will be a sweep but if the Heat are gonna win a game it will be tonight and there will be all kinds of takes”.

Still, my original thought was they would win but I’m coping

We have more than enough defensive personnel to make the proper rotations etc.

The aim against this Miami team should just be to run them off the line every possession. They have no other way to beat us.

Instead we allowed them to run us off the line tonight and we got smoked.

Cs strategy was same as it was in the regular season. Allow ATB threes. Protect the paint. Weakly contest certain players and tightly contest others.

Don't know why they're afraid of letting Martin and Jovic and Highsmith put the ball on the floor and make plays.

Joe comes from Brad's coaching tree and they share the principle of doing same thing they believe in over and over but next time, do it better.

Hoping there are some adjustments game 3.

Really don’t like the trend of two consecutive Celtics being shockingly inflexible with their defensive schemes and losing playoff games because of it.

There should have been adjustments after halftime tonight.

All it looked like was that Mazzulla told them to get up on the close outs a bit more.

They should have been running them off the line.

I just don’t understand it at all.

There is no way for Miami to beat us in a game in this series if it doesn’t involve them hitting a ton of 3s.

We just kept daring them, they hit them and then by that point it was far too hard to get stops and we made their offence look as hard to stop as the Denver Nuggets.

Maddening.

I’m not certain Joe is as bad as people claim. He isn’t great, but probably not as bad.

But at the same time, with a payroll like this, you can’t, can’t, can’t trot out an average to below average coach in this scenario. You need someone who has been there. Someone who can light that fire every night and I just don’t think Joe is that guy. Maybe I’m wrong, but the team keeps spending more and more and more and the mentality of the team seems to be the same. There was zero urgency in the 4th quarter of game one when the mentality should have been to step on their throats. Udoka probably was the guy, sadly. But I guess we can only speculate.

Yep. You don't wait for the game to end to make adjustments. They should've been prepped to pivot defensive schemes/strategies in-game.

We don't have a Rondo/Lebron/Draymond with super high BBIQ that can dictate possessions real-time without relying on the coach. So Joe and co. have to step their game up.

A not so fun fact:

Tatum played the whole 4th Q and made only one shot.

Honestly this teams lack of defence at times over the last two years in the playoffs has been mind boggling.

We did the same thing last year where we played lazy d and made all 3 teams we played look like juggernauts.

We did it again tonight.

With our defensive personnel in a playoff game we should be making it near impossible for a team to score. There are zero excuses.

Where’s the god damn effort?

If he was fine with how they closed out post game, he definitely didn't address that at the half. I wish we had a "Mic'd up" game with Joe wearing one, so we could know what he really said.

See this **** often in close games. Didn’t he have like 0 points in the 4th quarter the first 3 games against the Heat last season in the playoffs?

Can’t be looking at Derrick white to bail you out or standing in the corner watching Porzingis not be able to catch a pass in the post when he’s playing the worst game of his life.

Needs to act like he’s the best player in the world when he’s out there not panic and get frustrated

Some of the closes late might have been fine if their team wasn’t already filled with confidence.

They didn’t have a single player who was struggling by that point.

Glad this has been highlighted.

I was so confused by some of the defensive possessions in the fourth. WTF is that man?

It’s almost like a half assed zone?

Must say I’m sick of hearing Tatum and Brown say we expected Miami to be tough etc with our history against them.

GTFO with that pathetic BS.

A team with our firepower and regular season success should be absolutely smoking an 8th seed minus its best player. And no, I don’t **** care how good their coach is.

There should be zero excuses to smashing this team.

But to be fair, no one is being honest with themselves if they think this team would beat Denver in a series. There is light-years between the two in terms of resilience, composure and execution.

To shoot down anyone doubting this team's ability to beat Denver is disingenuous

I think we can beat them. I thought the same last year. It wouldn’t be easy but I think we can.

Miami give us problems that Denver don’t.

I’m not even convinced Denver makes the finals this year though.

The Celtics had the best home record in the league.

They at home, playing a Heat team without Butler and Rozier.

The inability for Joe to make adjustments during games has reached another level.

This team doesn't have another gear. That was evident when we tried to beat the Hawks and lost two straight to team in 3 days, a month ago. That was very clear when the Bucks blew us out twice in the last month.

It will take a miracle for this soft, bad coached, super talented team without a leader to win a title this season.

It might not be fun and Tatum and Brown are know notorious chokers. So it shouldn't be a surprise. White, Jrue and KP need to step up in game 3 and carry this team. White was great in game 1.
