I'm sure you meant this, but LA went nuts after game 2 while outshooting us at the line by a 39-18 mark, not counting intentionals. But of course when the Great Kobe Bryant is in foul trouble there is a national meltdown. This was the only game, by the way, where the national media got their collective panties in a bunch about the officiating, go figure.

By the way, anyone notice the nasty, stinky, egg that Kobe laid in game 7? Or is that just going to be swept under the rug like the officiating in this series?

We can whine all we want, nothing will change. People will forget about it in a week. If that Sacramento series have been forgotten, this will be too.

I think Kobe laid an egg in the entire series, as a Celtic fan, I really expected him to hurt us more but he played poorly. Gasol was the real MVP in this series even if we had won. A year from now, people will just say Kobe won Lakers this title, no one will remember how he choked in game 7.

The story started about the refs and it ended about the refs......as it should have. Unless you play great you cannot beat 8 guys and the C's didn't play great this series without the HCA. The story ended about the other 3 guys.

LOL no in a year from now people are going to remember how Kobe and Gasol shot 12 for 40 combined, but beasted the hell out of you guys combining for 33 rebounds. Our most effective player for the game Ron Ron only shot 39% from the field, but he still managed to outplay Pierce (who laid an egg for the whole series).

It really wasn't about the offense, it was about manning up and fighting for that win. The more physical team won it, the Lakers pounded you guys inside all night and kept chipping away until the end. Lakers were getting shots at the rim in the second half and you guys were content with Pierce and Allen shooting jumpers.

the ball was outside the rim and pretty much below the level of the rim. the official rule is the ball needs to be 75% out of the rim btw

Thats almost an entire extra game of offense for the Lakers. 13 pts in the 4th quarter alone. Its not whining, its what actually happened last night.

BTW, the Greek World Cup team called and Pau is requested immediately due to his extraordinary flopping skills

I'm sorry for the "whinner" remark! Hey europeans will be europeans! But can't take nothing away from the C's though. But one question if Ray was struggling at times in the series why didn't they throw in Finley at times? well I guess that another topic. But I know Rajon will learn from this and work on his jumper.

Complain about the refs all you want. The Lakers played like trash, Kobe puts in an absolute stinkfest of a game with Gasol marching closely behind him (that one shot at the end probably redeems him though, BIG SHOT) and no one steps up on the Celtics.

Rondo- ran the offense ineffectively. It was really sad to watch because when the Celtics are clicking with Rondo getting anywhere on the court he wants, the Celtics run some real great fundamental team basketball. He could have been any PG in the league for all he did in that game. Which is nothing.

Pierce- He just straight sucked. Committed a stupid, stupid, stupid foul with the game closing down that put Pau on the FT line. Didnt put his team on his back when it mattered. Didnt get to the FT line. Looked pedestrian in game 7.

KG- Three rebounds? Seriously? Dude is super tall, that is pathetic.

Ray Allen- Ineffective. Didnt make enough shots when they counted, missed open layups again and again like he has all through the series. Even missed a FT!

Rasheed- Did what he had to do. Only Celtic out there that I can say did what he had to do. Hit the shots he needed to hit, played good D, played with grit and hustle. Might have got jobbed on the blocking foul late in the game on Kobe but then again he might have been in the cylinder, I couldnt tell.

Celtics bench- Worthless. Wasnt worth two craps that game.

To their credit, they played good D. Their offense was atrocious though, especially late in the game.

Guys, the refs didnt decide this game. Shoddy Celtics rebounding and bad offensive play doomed them, nothing else did. They had a golden chance to win this game with the terrible play of Kobe. Oh how I would have relished the headlines after he lays two stinkfest games in pivotal games vs. the Celtics in two Finals- it would have been awesome. Instead we get to listen to this trash where Kobe is anointed one of the best ever despite his terrible Finals shooting percentage, his inability to step up for his team when it really matters, and how he went into chucker mode early in game 7 and played like trash all through it, all while still chucking up terrible shots and clanging them left and right. Shame on the Celtics for not making this possible.

Return to Boston Celtics
