Yeah, life is crazy man. My first girlfriend cheated on me, I hated her for a few years, and now we're best friends who talk about anything, including our own relationships. This is ten years ago. If you're meant to be together in some capacity, it'll happen, or it won't.

When things seem bad, just try to have some perspective, and whoever said there are better girls out there is 100% correct. Whenever I go to a reunion or see a girl I used to crush on in Boston I just laugh.

Best of luck. Go Cs.

No one came up and introduced themselves as RealGM members after my speech so I assume no one from here turned up. But that's ok. I'll be back in Boston to talk about immigration soon ;)

For anyone who cares, I gave a speech a week ago on immigration at Harvard. I met no realgmers there this time, but I've met a couple at UMaine and other places.

If you ever see someone giving a speech in your area from a Mr / Dr Finley please check it out. And if you tell me you're from realgm I'll buy you a beer. You'll know it's me because of my accent and long dreads :P

If you feel uncomfortable approaching in case it isn't me, feel free to PM me and I'll send you a picture of me so you know what I look like. I have met five people on realgm already. I certainly don't mind meeting more if you're in the area or interested in my speeches.

I'm in Portland, Maine for the rest of the summer. If anyone is around, feel free to let me know if you're hitting up Ri Ra or elsewhere.

I'd love to meet up sometime man. I ended up driving to that Liverpool game on gameday and crashing at my mother's--drove back to Philly the next morning.

Would have definitely come through had my original plans worked out. If you're doing anything at Harvard/Boston again, and I'll be in Portland in November for friend's wedding. We should chill.

I have also hung out with several realgm members. There are some seriously humorous and unique characters on these boards :)

Why is this thread so dead? Have we all moved out of New England?

Do people really move out of New England? Every older person I know has been here for decades and even those that do move out still have ties/come back.

My entire neighborhood here in SD is from New England.

I ain't going back. No **** way. Not now, not ever. If I made a list of the top 20 places to live in the US, the only reason Boston might make the list is because I'd want my kids to go to good schools (although it probably makes the top 10 if you are just looking at big cities, I guess).

Watch any Celtics road game. There are like 1,000 Cs fan in their stadium. We are Transplant Central. People are fleeing the premises.

It's pretty damn cold, man. In February I feel like my hair is freezing.

I'm in western NY for grad school, it makes most of New England seem like Georgia in the winter..

Any sign of wind and it's game over. Too damn cold when that starts happening.

Yeah, I'll probably move back but not for a while unless I get a great job back home at some point . I love Philly, but my favorite place in the world is Cambridge/Boston.

I left New England for Denver because I handle cold weather so badly that I feel like I'm only alive and functional 5 months out of the year when I'm there.

Now I'm leaving Denver for even warmer climes, because it wasn't any better here.

I would move to the Middle East and park myself down in the middle of the hottest, driest desert I could find, if it wasn't so dang crazy over there.

I love you NE/Boston, and I'll always visit / rave about you to everyone who's never been, but I can't see myself ever living in the area again. No amount of money would make it worth the extremely poor quality of life for me.

The newest member of the Pogue clique. I call her "Eebs" or "E.B." (short for "Extra Big" dog, as she was 20+ # overweight when I took her in after he original owner was forced to move away due to medical.)

She likes long walks, cuddling and chasing lizards.

^^Awesome looking dog Pogue.

They could use him here, Swat team and helicopters all over town in Melrose looking for car jackers on the loose.

So much for taking the little guy to the pool.

Well, Goodbye, RealGM, I have completed my doctorate and now am going to spend the next few years in Senegal and elsewhere in Western Africa. I know I won't be missed haha but nonetheless, peace to everyone.

Hey man, congrats on your doctorate and good luck in your future endeavours! Myself, I'm sad to see you go –- you've been one of my favourite posters here. Hopefully we'll see you (and Von Wafer's mug) back one day.

Ha, maybe Von will be back in the NBA around the same time I return.

Of course, internet exists in Africa. (Amazing, I know,) So periodically I plan on checking in and telling people they are wrong for being optimistic (hence people not missing me).

I'm not a medical doctor, but an educational one. I hope to make a difference in that regard.

Anyway. I will miss RealGM. Best way to waste a couple hours while sitting in office hours waiting for undergrads to come in and ask why I gave them Cs on their terrible essays. I will hopefully be able to post every now and then.

I thought about making a thread; but that seems pretty condescending and I'm not about that. I'll be in Portland, Maine the next few nights. I'll be out and about and if you see me, feel free to say hey

Yes it's an old picture, yes that's just a friend, and yes that's just "water" in that cup.

My dreads are the same, still got the beads, and I'm probably a bit darker right now.

Whoa, congrats, Dr Irie.

Now I can see why you were always so "pessimistic" about those Kevin Love rumors. Would've sucked to know you were missing out on watching a potentially championship caliber team. With this heap of a roster in place you can put your mind at ease--- we're not going anywhere till you get back. :)

Be safe. Stay interesting. Good luck.
